Alyssa Milano Granted Restraining Order Against Stalker
Alyssa Milano was awarded a restraining order by a Los Angeles court to help protect her from a man she says has repeatedly tried contacting her and has showed up at her home unannounced.
In only the latest celebrity case to result in a restraining order, Alyssa Milano has managed to convince a court to at least attempt to help her stay at a safe distance from a man who is clearly obsessed with her. In a world so dominated by celebrity news and celebrity "watching", it's almost not surprising that there are people who get consumed by it to the point of losing grasp of reality.
Jeff Turner, the target of the restraining order, is a northern California man whom Milano claimed hiked miles to try to meet her without an invitation and then tried repeatedly to gain access to an event where she would be appearing.
Milano recently announced her engagement to Hollywood agent David Bugliari.
It is one thing to see celebrities in their roles in film and television, where the line between reality and fiction is usually fairly well drawn. But with the 24-hour coverage of celebrity "news", we are granted access to the mundane daily activities of celebrities. And because celebrities are present, anything is then "newsworthy"...
As a result, we get E!, TMZ, Perez Hilton and any number of non-stop sources of celebrity filler. People like Jeff Turner clearly can't handle that type of access.
