Although a Sign of Wisdom Baldness Affects Virility Too

Propecia may just be the right cure for you, which effectively treats male pattern baldness. Propecia, a DHT (dihydrotestosterone) inhibitor, and therefore without DHT, hair follicles stop dying and new hair actually grows back.
What is male pattern baldness?

Also known as androgenetic alopecia or male pattern baldness, this is one of the most common types of hair loss that is caused by hormonal imbalance. It affects the central and frontal area of the scalp and often results in a pronounced horseshoe pattern. This is generally an inherited condition in men which is triggered by the hormone Dihydrotestosterone. An increase in this hormone causes gradual miniaturization of the hair follicles and then eventual loss of hair.

About Propecia and its mechanism of action

Propecia has been dubbed as a "miracle drug" by some. However, according to doctors that’s a stretch, because they warn that the product is known to work in different ways for different people.

The recommended dose of Propecia is a one milligram tablet daily with a glass of water. It was first developed by Merck for use against "benign prostate hypertrophy," or swelling of the male sex gland, and hair growth was a side effect of the drug.

Merck immediately launched clinical trials and the results that came back were impressive. When used over a 12-month period, about 83% of the men in the trial group stopped losing more hair, with 66% growing new hair. Of the 66%, 30% showed mild re-growth while the other 30% showed moderate re-growth and 6% witnessed "dense hair growth."

Curiously, most of the Propecia users who suffered undesirable sexual side effects stuck with the drug and 60% of them later found that their sexual problems had faded away.

Propecia, a DHT inhibitor, and therefore without DHT, hair follicles stop dying and new hair actually grows back. However, in order to maintain these results, a pill must be taken daily or else new hair growth will fall out in time.

Why Propecia?

Losing hair is more an issue of virility for men than a sign of aging. Thus, they are among a growing breed that are looking at various products that profess speedy hair re-growth or, at least, slow or inhibit further hair loss. Propecia provides perhaps the most hope for men who are looking for relief relatively quickly.
