All in a Day

A nice, hot summer day
Sitting in a pool, lazing away
Wasps all out to play
A twisted ankle got in the way

We dried off, sat in the house
Sitting in AC after we'd been doused
Grabbed a few beers to swallow down
Then after that we went uptown

Bought some chocolate for the family
Sam really just wanted some candy
Dropped off money and got alcohol
Off to taco bell after it all

Gobbled them up on the way home
Grabbed the half gallon and a lot of coke
Poured out some drinks to haze our domes
Tried to be quiet and not tell the folks

Talking and talking as we boozed
Joked and smoked, swam in the dark
Came back inside and played a little blues
Wrote my name on the street to leave my mark

Flirting and crying filled our ears
I talked about all of my fears
It was beyond me to hold back the tears
But friends comforted me beyond their years

All in all we had fun
A lot had happened since we'd begun
Up and down the stairs all night
Thought my mom would pick a fight

Everyone waited with bated breath
As our friend fought with an ex
Got rocked at halo and read some poems
Then listened to songs a little old

Time and time, we'll meet again
Who wouldn't want to see their friends
We'll make sure this isn't the end
Good times are waiting around the bend
