Actor Alec Baldwin has been making the rounds offering apologies for the nasty tirade he left on his 11-year old daughter’s cell phone earlier this month.

Baldwin, 49, has appeared in an interview that was previously taped and that aired on Friday on The View. He said, "Obviously, calling your child a pig or anything else is improper and inappropriate, and I apologize to my daughter for that. There’s nothing wrong with being frustrated or angry about the situation. It’s the way you do it, and as people often do in this world, I took it out on the wrong person." Baldwin also pointed out that this was the first time he had done anything like this.

Just last week a message that Baldwin left on his 11-year old daughter, Ireland’s cell phone was leaked to the public. In the message Baldwin tears into his daughter for not answering the phone at the appointed time that they were to speak. In part of his message he said, ""You don’t have the brains or the decency as a human being. I don’t give a d*mn that your 12-years old or 11 years old or that you’re a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the a**." Baldwin’s visitation rights were revoked until a May 4 hearing to determine future custody rights.

Baldwin also reportedly spoke with Dr. Phil McGraw after he appeared on Larry Kind Live and offered to help Baldwin and his ex-wife Kim Basinger threw this difficult time. McGraw defended Baldwin and said that the actor’s main concern was "maintaining a relationship with Ireland." Baldwin and Basinger split after 8 years of marriage in 1991. For the past 5 years they have been bitterly battling over custody of their only daughter and it doesn’t seem as if their issues are going to be worked out any time soon. For now, Baldwin is doing his best to let everyone know how sorry he is.
