Alabama Gunman Had How-To DVDs on Violence

Investigators have discovered several DVDs from the burned home of Michael McLendon, the man who killed 10 people, then himself in Alabama.
In a bizarre twist in to increasingly disturbing and tragic story, police in Alabama have revealed that Michael McLendon had a library of DVDs on how to carry out his attack. Police are still trying to determine the origin of the DVDs and CDs, but some information has leaked that at least one of the videos provided instructions on how to shoot into a moving vehicle. One of McLendon’s victims was killed while still inside a moving car.

Investigators are still trying to piece together some kind of motive for the worst massacre in Alabama history. At this point, it appears that McLendon had tried and failed in both the Marine Corp and the local police academy. He had been unable to hold down jobs and was also in the midst of some kind of dispute with family. Ultimately, there will likely never be a satisfactory explanation for why something like this happened.

Instead, families of victims will be left to forever wonder why their loved ones died so needlessly at the hands of a violent and deranged individual. And what is it in our society that seems to breed these types of people and these types of random attacks with greater frequency. Not surprisingly, McLendon used assault rifles during his attack, which allowed him to inflict horrifying damage in very little time.
