Move and Sit With the Music!
Well, this is nothing different, it is musical chair! Musical chairs are a great alternative for improving the agility in kids. Continuous sidewards movements, while the music runs and immediately turning back and sitting on the chair when the music stops. This process actually trains their body to move quickly towards both their sides and also turn back suddenly. So this is fun as well as exercise! Music chair can be arranged in indoors as well as outdoors.
Sweat a Bit in the Outdoors!
Playing outdoor games in young age is important and beneficial for everyone. Playgrounds are the place where a child learns sportsmanship, fight at times and also does a lot of physical activity. Jacks is one such outdoor game that improves the agility of hands. All you have to do is, pile 5 jacks and bounce a palm sized ball next to the jacks. You then need to collect as much as jacks as you can till the ball lands. Kids usually are able to pick up one in the first attempt. However, with practice they pick up more jacks in a single bounce.
Hip Hop Hopscotch!
Hopscotch is amongst the all time favorite games for kids. In hopscotch, kids hop through boxes drawn in a numerical sequence using single or both feet. The player inside the boxes, must throw a marker into any of the boxes and must hop into the boxes, without using any of his other body parts for balance. This hopping distance increases and becomes challenging as the game proceeds. This increases the agility of lower body and also improves their balance.
Challenging Obstacles!
You must have heard of games such as 'Wipe Out' and 'Ninja Warrior'. Well, what we are gonna do over here is the same. Set up obstacles such as balance beam walks, nets, monkey bars and slide on a playground at a certain distance from each other. The challenge for kids over here is to overcome all the obstacles as soon as possible. Older kids might wish to set a timer, challenge their friends and try to beat each other's time, which makes the game even quicker and tough. Overcoming the obstacles targets the entire body. This therefore contributes to improvement in the movement of each and every body part, thereby increasing the agility.
