After a Break Up

My college friend Amy is still in love with Patrick, her high school boyfriend who left her after school. It's been four years. It's heartening to see that she loves someone so truly even though he was a jerk. But it's awful, to endure was she has to endure.

But I never imagined how tough it was till I went through a break up of my own, till I felt that unbearable pain, the urge to end my life, the tremendous need to see him, or even hear his voice.

But Amy and I both went through it. The difference? I am getting over my guy in a month and she hasn't even started. It doesn't mean I loved him less. It means that I finally love my life. Again.

And I know how many girls are out there, in pain, suffering because of those who didn't care equally, or who didn't care at all. Basically, jerks.

The first step? Accept it.

Accept the fact that someone broke up with you. There is no two ways about it. They left you... bam! They are gone and would never come back. Don't keep the slightest possibility in your head. Because even if they do come back, there are all the chances of them repeating the same mistake. Trust me, I have been through that. Possibility? Crap.

But do not think that there was something wrong with you, even if they said so. Let them go to hell, you deserve better. And God is writing a perfect story for us somewhere, in this whole world... there is someone who is craving for us... and we are going to be with them... at the right time.

First rule... love yourself, otherwise no one else can love you.

Your friends might have left you, the love of your life may have left you... but I'll never leave, because I'll etch some words into your soul and since those words will stay there, so will I. Famous people all around us say something all the time, it's time to open our eyes and realize that they too suffered, and it's time to listen to what they have to say.
