Advice on Choosing an Mini Office Refrigerator

A mini office refrigerator can be a useful cooling option for keeping work drinks and lunches cool throughout the day.
Today the work place is often the area where a lot of people spend a great portion of the day. It is often difficult to even find time to get away long enough to grab a bite to eat and if you are looking for time to run to the break room for a soda, that is not going to happen. Business today requires that you are available when the people need you and that means being on the ready mode at any point in time. That is something that can be better done if you have a small mini office refrigerator close by in the room where you are working.

These units are small and fairly unobtrusive and yet large enough to hold a days worth of sodas and lunch for a small office so that everyone that wants to can store a meal and drinks for the day. Most of these units are small enough that they can fit nicely beside a desk or a file cabinet and not look out of place.

The con, at lest from the bosses point of view, is that the employees might tend to break more often to locate a soda or a snack. Having one so close to your desk is that you may tend to take more frequent breaks than if you had to walk down to the break room to get that soda or water or candy bar. But that should subside after a few days when the novelty wears off and it should be back to business as usual. Everyone should be back to using it only when they need it.

Of course, an employee might well be more productive with that snack or soda and as a result might actually do a better job.

For a mini office refrigerator the price can range from under a hundred dollars to around $300. The units can be purchased just about anywhere these days so if you can talk the boss into it then it won't be too hard to find. If several office folks chip in on it, it shouldn't break anyone's budget. You are also more likely to talk the bug guy into it if he doesn't have to come up with the money.

Upkeep and maintenance is fairly simple and it should be just a matter of normal cleaning and an occasional defrost if you get one with a freezer. If you stick to a basic unit with only the fridge then it shouldn't require anything other than some easy wipe downs on the inside and outside to keep it looking spiffy.
