Acupressure for Back Pain
The method of acupressure for back pain relief has been an age-old practice in Chinese medicine. This article will let you know about the benefits you can reap through this traditional healing technique.

How Does Acupressure Work for Back Pain
The following would present you with some tips on how to go about with back pain treatment with acupressure. It is best when someone else does the acupressure for you, as then the session would be complete and more effective. Now keep a pen and paper handy, and start jotting down.
- First of all, you would require a blunt object. Something like the eraser part of a pencil. This is for applying pressure on the acupuncture points. You can also work with your fingers though.
- Now, you would have to find a flat place to lie down. Lying on your side, and bring your knees towards your chest. In order to reduce pressure on your spine, ask your partner to place a pillow or something between your knees.
- Now what is important to know while carrying out acupressure to treat back pain is about three acupuncture points. One is located near the buttocks, and one is slightly beneath the tailbone. The third point is just above the tail bone.
- Having located all these points, your partner has to now push against these acupressure points for back pain, using his fingers or a pencil. He has to exert pressure until the point begins to hurt. And once it does, the pressure has to be applied in a clockwise direction to reduce the acupressure.
- Now it's time to find another acupuncture point. This you can be done by placing the finger above the top of the hip bone. Now the finger has to be moved towards the spine until it is 4 finger widths from the spine. This is the point where pressure has to applied, and reduced by moving the finger or the object clockwise.
- Thereafter, the finger has to be moved towards the spine further until its 2 finger widths from it. This is another point, to be worked.
