Prior to acrylic nail removal, cut the nails as short as possible by using nail clippers, so that you can remove the artificial nails with less efforts. If it is painful to trim the acrylic nails, you can retain them. Following this, pour the nail polish remover in a shallow bowl, in which you can soak the nails.

You can apply petroleum jelly on the fingers and cuticles prior to soaking in the nail polish remover. This will prevent your skin from drying after soaking in the nail polish remover. Also, lukewarm remover works best for quick removal of artificial nails. Considering this, you can put the acetone bowl in a container of hot water. Dip the fingers and soak the acrylic nails in the warm nail polish remover for about 15-20 minutes. To minimize evaporation of the acetone remover, you can cover the bowl with a thick towel.

Take off the fingers from the bowl and peel off the acrylic nails. If it is tough to remove the acrylic nails, soak your fingernails for another 5-10 minutes. By now, you can peel off the remaining acrylic nail residues. Rinse and wash your fingers and nails thoroughly with warm water to clean traces of nail polish removal and petroleum jelly. Consider using a nail buffer, in case there are any residues of nail glue.
