Aces And Eights
Wild Bill Hickok was shot dead while gambling. This is my tribute to a western hero.

The cards he's dealt,
The Devil's deal,
His death revealed,
A dead man's hand.
In Deadwood Gulch,
In the Dakota Black Hills,
He had a dream,
He would not leave,
Aces and eights.
But still he played,
Tempting fate,
Aces and eights.
As he played his hand,
Crooked nose McColl,
Made his call,
Gun to the head,
Would make him fall,
Fall down dead.
Aces and eights.
The five black cards,
Would be forever marked,
Stained in blood,
From a smoking gun,
Hickok's gone,
Wild Bill's done,
It's too late,
Aces and eights.
A bullet to the head,
He fell down dead,
Cards held in hand,
The dead man's hand.
Aces and eights,
With the Queen of the grave!
