Accident - Ch. 2 out of 2

Violet's life becoming harder, then eventually easier. This story is dedicated to one of my friends that died in a wreck before graduation two years ago.
We got to school, prison camp. People is going to bug the living heck out of me. Amanda was helping me with my books and binders. When I got to my first period class people ran towards me and asked me questions.
"Violet, how did you and Peter get in a wreck?" asked one kid.
"Did you distract Peter?" asked another kid.
"Everyone shut up! Violet didn't do nothing of the sort. She is a young individual that wouldn't hurt a fly. Give the girl some gratitude for staying alive." Amanda replied strongly.
"Class is now starting." Mr. Zucci strongly replied.
They day went by fast and I went home. Mom and dad will help me out, hopefully.
"Mom, dad. I'm home."
No response from them. I think they're out grocery shopping. I went to the kitchen and got the grapes out of the fridge. I went to the table and turned on my laptop.
"Sweet nibblets!"

I have a whole bunch of e-mails, have to be more than a hundred. I opened one up and, oh my god it was horrifying. People wanted to kill me!
"Violet I'm home!" dad echoed.
I quickly turned the laptop off so he doesn't see the bad threats.
"Yes! I heard you a mile away. You aren't hard to miss!" I almost laughed.
Dad tip toed over to the kitchen and hugged me.
"Oh sweetie. Mom has to work late tonight."
"That's fine. Father-daughter bonding time."
Dad cooked supper and I was getting tired.
"Dad, I'm going to bed. Good night."
"Good night Violet, don't let the bed bugs bite."
"That's a old saying like you!" I started to laugh.

I woke up in the middle of the night. Then I heard the door knocking. Dad wouldn't hear nothing when he's asleep. So I grabbed my crutches and got the door. I balanced myself and opened the door. Shoot! A cop.
"Uh, hello mister." shaky as usual.
"Well, is your dad home." he was serious.
"Asleep. Can't wake him up. Waz up?"
"Well, your mom was coming home and unluckily she died in a head on collision with a caravan."
"Oh my god! I just got out of the hospital and now my mom is dead. My dad is going to be ticked off!" I started to cry.
"Don't worry Violet. We have the person in the caravan. He's under arrest. He was drunk."
I dropped down on the floor, hard crying, tears streaming down my face. The cop sat down beside me and tried to make me feel safe. Dad came in, finally, and knew exactly what has happened. Dad reached over and picked me up. Dad nodded at the cop to leave so he listened. We sat on the couch together all night.

Last day of school was hard. A death of a friend and a family member. People heard the bad news from Amanda, good thing because no one been mean to me. The day went fast and it was time for the Graduation. The teachers wanted everyone to give a two minute speech for Peter, but they wanted me to tell what exactly happened at the wreck.
The students went on about how Peter was hot and friendly. Then Mr. Zucci came up to the podium and started to talk.
"Last but not least Violet. She was in the wreck with Peter. Don't be harsh, I told her to tell what exactly happened during the time. So Violet."
I went to the podium. Goodness gracious! Tons of eyes staring down at me. There were people sad, glad, and angry. I feel like I don't belong here. I started to back away but Mr. Zucci stopped me. He nodded to the podium. The only thing that ran through my mind was death.

"Uh. Welcome to the Graduation. I will be speaking to you about Peter;s death. Well I went to his house because we were going to see Wolverine Origins. Peter was speeding and had no seat belt on, but he didn't listen to me about the warning. He hit a Dodge truck and died an hour later." I started to cry.
"I love Peter so much and I keep thinking that it's all my fault. For all little kids, wear your seat belt at all times. It will protect you. So the last two days of school was hard for me, especially people made it that way."
The students ruffled around.

"I got through it. So my future plan is to go to Ohio State College to get a degree in Child Education and Safety. And I hope I will had no student like Peter, driving wise." I started to cheer up.
Everyone was applauding for me. I felt good for a change. I walked down the stairs, actually clutched, and received my Diploma. I raised it up high so everyone saw it.
Years passed and I got my Masters Degree. When I got a job, I kept telling my students the story about Peter. Every year it got more interesting. Students followed the story and drove safely. Every night, I pray to God and to Peter that everyone around me would be safe. Always.
