Acceptance
Taken from my personal compilations, every lines of this poem depicted a struggle to find meaning to our existence.
No matter what the pigments of the skin
Nor the status of a living
Just be what you are
Make believe
You are better than the rest.
Be what you are
No matter how hard to accept
Envy not
The fortune and power of others
Just be what you are
Make believe
The world is all yours.
Today may not be your time
But somehow yours will come
Savor the debris of broken dreams
Accept as they are
Make believe
One day one of those illusions
Will become a star.
No matter what the quarrelsome world brings
Just stand still
Somehow the wind stops blowing
And those worries will soon be gone
Make believe
The best has yet to come.
Nor the status of a living
Just be what you are
Make believe
You are better than the rest.
Be what you are
No matter how hard to accept
Envy not
The fortune and power of others
Just be what you are
Make believe
The world is all yours.
Today may not be your time
But somehow yours will come
Savor the debris of broken dreams
Accept as they are
Make believe
One day one of those illusions
Will become a star.
No matter what the quarrelsome world brings
Just stand still
Somehow the wind stops blowing
And those worries will soon be gone
Make believe
The best has yet to come.
