‘’Alicia, could you please come here for a minute!‘’Someone said. Alicia frowned and gritted her teeth. I giggled.
‘’Oh sorry, I’ll be right back. My brother wants me‘’She said sternly. I nodded. I looked to the side. Tyrone sat one of the chairs, looking around while nursing a drink in his hand. I looked to the front and saw my colleague from work, Kevin. I smiled and went up to him. I tapped his shoulder. He turned around.

‘’Kia. How are you?‘’Kevin said quietly. We hugged.
‘’Am fine. I didn’t know you were going to be here.‘’I replied smiling.
‘’Ha! So, who did you come with?‘’He asked.
‘’Just Tyrone.‘’I blushed. I looked back at Tyrone, smiling but he gave me a vicious look. My face dropped. I looked back at Kevin quickly.
‘’I’ll be right back Kevin’’ I said hastily. He nodded. I walked towards Tyrone.
‘’Baby, what’s the matter?‘’I asked softly. He glared at me viciously. I moved away, sensing danger.

‘’Can we go outside because I need to speak to you.’’ He asked snaring.
‘’Why?‘’I asked puzzled. What did I do wrong? Why does he want to speak to me? I thought.
‘’Just come‘’He said. He pulled me by the arm and took me outside the house.
‘’Who the hell is that guy who you were talking to? He asked sternly.
‘’Oh, Tyro...‘’He put his left hand in my face.
‘’Don’t Tyrone me. Who is that Guy.?‘’He growled a bit louder.
‘’He’s a friend.’’ I said quietly.

‘’From where?‘’He replied.
‘’Work.‘’I said.
‘’You’re lying‘’He said angrily.

‘’Yes you are. Then why were you hugging him like that then? You were flirting with him.‘’He said. What the hell? Why would I flirt with my friend? I thought.
‘’Tyrone, I wasn’t flirting with him. I would never do that and what is wrong with hugging friends eh?’’ I asked.

‘’What do you mean? The thing that was wrong about it was the way you hugged him. It was like...‘’‘’LIKE WHAT? Can’t you trust me? He’s just a friend for goodness sakes. I love you and no one else.‘’I said, pleading for his understanding.
‘’Stop shouting at me.’’ He shouted.

‘’STOP‘’He replied. His fist stiffened. By the time I realized I was on the floor screaming. Tyrone grabbed by my collar and pushed me to the maple trees standing in front of the house under which we both stood. Tyrone said he would never hit me again. He lied to me... I thought he loved me.
‘’I warned you Kia to stop shouting but you wouldn’t listen.‘’He whispered.
‘’What the hell are you doing to her!‘’Someone shouted. We looked back. It was Alicia. Tyrone dropped me to the ground. He walked to Alicia.

‘’It’s none of your damn business.’’ He said sternly while pointing at her.
‘’So, is this what you do to her? Beat her up because you’re angry. Yes! she has told me everything that you did to her. You BEAST! How dare you hit a girl? You should be ashamed of yourself!‘’She exclaimed. Tyrone’s fists stiffened. She looked at me.
‘’Come on Kia. Let’s get out of here.‘’she said softly while looking at Tyrone. She frowned and gritted her teeth. She put her hand forward. I took held her hand and we both walked towards the entrance of the house.
Then I heard it. A gunshot. I looked back. Tyrone was holding the gun, trembling. My eyes widened.
