About Cars
Learn about German cars and more.
Stories about Adolf Hitler caused me to become interested with Germany. Knowing how cruel Hitler was, I begun to ask if all Germans think and act like him. Eventually, I became fascinated with their way of living, including their traditions and fashion. When I was in college, I had German friends and up to now, we still communicate through emails and chat. They even invited me to visit them in their country. Since it’s my longtime dream to get to their country, I did not have a second thought. I immediately looked for a hotel where I can stay.
In my research for a hotel, I came across some information regarding Hitler. Did you know that Hitler was the propagator of a popular vehicle? During the 1930s, the notorious Adolf Hitler asked Mr. F. Porsche to produce a vehicle "for the German people." Consequently, Volkswagen started and until now, it continues to develop new designs and innovations. It was Hitler’s idea to put the engine at the car’s rear and to make the vehicle look so round—it actually looks like the tiny insect that is why it’s called the Beetle. Thank goodness they have invented such a car; I really love the unique design as well as the functionalities. Even though Volkswagen is hardly considered as one of those first-rate vintage cars, it still belongs to the revered classics.
Germany is not only the land of geniuses when it comes to music and sciences; it is the home of the best racer in the world, Ferrari’s Michael Schumacher. The world’s best Schumacher was born in Hürth Hermülheim, near Cologne. He is a seven-time Formula One world champion and holds many Formula One records, which include most drivers’ championships, race victories, fastest laps, pole positions, and most races won in a single season. Also, Schumacher is the only German to win the drivers’ championship and is considered as one of the best paid sportsmen in the world, courtesy of an estimated US$80 million earning annually as of 2004.
The automobile industry is among the major components why German economy keeps on blooming. Indeed, Germany is revered across the globe because of its quality cars as well as its edgy car designs. In fact, this bustling country surely is the third among the largest automobile producers after the energetic Japan and the beloved America; it has 65% export rate. Furthermore, top car companies in Germany also have large major stakes in many international car brands: BMW in Rover, Daimler Benz, Chrysler, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, and a lot more. Extraordinary quality, innovative technology, and functionalism — these three essentials make the German car designs stand out among the rest. Additionally, Germany continues to live among the leading car industries because each German car design truly speaks of the unique German values and active German life.
