Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi’s Somaliland and H. P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu-land: both fictional

You will then discover that this unrecognized fallacy of state, "Cthulhu-land" (oh I am sorry ‘Somaliland’ – I forgot) is wealthier than Qatar and more developed than Switzerland. These disgusting lies are repellant for anyone pretending to be journalist, political analyst, observer and commentator. But they perfectly fit the world of the science fiction literature.
The loathsome tyrant’s ignorant and mean scribe, who happens to be my personal slanderer, has created a new section in the science fiction literature; after the wonderful invention of H.P. Lovecraft, the Call of Cthulhu, a fictional land, we have the lowest degree of erratic science fiction, composed by Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi, the Snivel of the unreal, absolutely fictional Somaliland.
Let’s contemplate for a while!
Does Rayale originate from R’lyeh?
Perhaps, Somaliland’s tyrant Rayale, called ‘democratic leader’ by his science fiction scribe Al-Mutairi, is nothing else but a citizen of R’lyeh, the fictional city that had been invented by H. P. Lovecraft.
R’lyeh was known (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R%27lyeh) for its bizarre architecture; and Rayale is known for his bizarre wife, Huda - the whale of Hargeisa!
In Lovecraft's fiction, R'lyeh is sometimes referred to in the ritualistic phrase "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", which roughly translates to "In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming".
This is similar to Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi’s ‘texts’ according to which the politically dead Rayale waits dreaming …..the formal recognition of his trashy pseudo-state of Somaliland!
To copy Lovecraft "the nightmare corpse-city of R'lyeh ... was built in measureless eons behind history by the vast, loathsome shapes that seeped down from the dark stars".
This helps establish the fictional parallel between Somaliland and Cthulhu-land as follows:
"The nightmare corpse-state of Somaliland…. was built in measureless moments of treason and hatred, behind the back of the Somalis, by the tiny, loathsome shape of Rayale who seeped down from the dark stars of Abyssinia".
In fact, and to Al-Mutairi’s greatest disappointment, Lovecraft predicted the existence of "president" Rayale; in the following words:
- "a monster of vaguely anthropoid outline".
I am sure all the Somalis share the same opinion, and more particularly the Somalis who have been engulfed in the Cthulhu-land of Rayale and Huda.
If now we want to leave Al-Mutairi’s science fiction, and see face to face the present day reality about the tyrannical policies and ruthless attitude of Rayale, we have to go through the revelatory editorial of the Somali portal Saylicipress.
It reveals the deep hatred that Rayale harbors against Somalia, and more particularly the great historical land of Awdal, his home region. I republish the enlightening editorial integrally, adding an astute reader’s comment at the end, always from the same, very informative, portal.
Awdalnews Editorial: Rayale’s Awdal Complex
http://saylicipress.net/2008/07/08/awdalnews-editorial-rayale%e2%80%99s-awdal-complex/#more-914
President Dahir Rayale has a problem; he hates his home region. And anyone who thinks this is a wild claim should only look at his attitude toward the people of his hometown.
In January this year many people lost their lives and their livestock in the coastal areas of Awdal region. While Awdalians at home and in the diaspora poured out their hearts and their pockets to assist the hapless victims, Rayale remained unmoved. Even after he woke up when Awdalnews chastised him with its clarion call editorial (Wake up, Mr. President. Wake up!) http://www.awdalnews.com/wmview.php?ArtID=9850), he couldn’t stomach a trip to Borama and had instead veered to Wajaale.
Rayale has refused to attend the funeral of any of the prominent Awdal personalities who died since he had become Somaliland’s President. The last was Hassan Sh. Momin, the famous playwright, whose death was mourned by all Somali speaking people all over the world.
Now with the death of 21 youth from Awdal, the most tragic incident that Somaliland has experienced in the recent past, Rayale has failed to even send a cable of condolence to the parents and the people of Borama.
People of Awdal know that Rayale is the President of the whole of Somaliland and as such they do not expect him to do any special favors for them on the basis of nepotism but they expect him to feel their pain and share their sorrows with them like any other President of the country would have done.
It seems, however, that Rayale thinks showing sympathy for his people in Awdal is somehow a weakness and that he would rather look the other way when calamity strikes them. He assumes by becoming President he had accomplished the highest achievement for the people of Awdal. Well, one may remind Rayale that the Awdal people would have been more vocal to demand their rights and more confident to get them if he was not in power.
It is time to refresh Rayale’s memory that he had won the last election with only 80 votes and with the next election around the corner, the people of Awdal may well prove their readiness to give their votes to someone who values the life of their children and has the compassion of a leader to comfort the grieving mothers. Being from Awdal doesn’t guarantee you our votes, sir, if you have no heart for our pain.

Well said. It is not only Awdal, he delivers no where. He is a calamity to all Somaliland. A man with no leadership, nor capacity to be a junior clerk. His policies are directionless and the only think he knows is to shoot his orders, regardless where the bullet will hit. If we collectively do not oppose to this growing calamity, I am afraid but our peopole will suffer, much more than they did from the late military regime. We will be divided and he will arm clan against clan.
That is coming and he is planting the seeds day in day out. So either we stand to safe our country or wait one fire reaches every house.
