Abdominal Pain on Right Side
Right side abdominal pain is generally caused by disease conditions such as appendicitis, kidney stones, hernia, gallstones, cholecystitis, etc. In fact, the list of causative disorders is very long. However, the article tries to describe a few of the most common reasons for abdominal pain.

List of the Possible Causes of Abdominal Pain on Right Side
Cause 1: If the pain starts either in the upper abdomen or around belly button, and further radiates to lower right side of the abdomen, then the most possible cause is appendicitis. It is the inflammation of appendix, usually caused by a bacterial infection.
Cause 2: Hard deposits of phosphates and urates in the kidney are called kidney stones. It causes sharp pain. It occurs when the zygote gets implanted outside the uterus, in any other parts of the body such as one of the fallopian tubes. It results in miscarriage within 8-12 days.
Cause 5: Gallstone is another common cause of right side abdominal pain. Sometimes, it may get entrapped either in the gallbladder or the canals that drain it. It may be accompanied with vomiting and dizziness. Generally, the pain in the right side of the abdomen radiates to other body parts such as back, neck and right arm.
Cause 6: One of the common causes of stomach pain on right side is hernia. It is the bulge or protrusion of a structure or muscle. If it occurs in any of the organs present on the right side of the abdomen, it causes pain, ranging from mild to severe intensity. The other noticeable symptoms can be vomiting, bloating or partial to complete bowel obstruction.
Cause 7: Another major cause of right side abdominal pain is cholecystitis. It is commonly found to occur in older people, more than 40 years of age. Cholecystitis is the inflammation of gallbladder. It is one of the complications associated with gallstones. Patients with severe pain may have to undergo surgery for complete treatment.
Cause 8: An uncommon cause of right lower side stomach pain is bowel cancer. It is diagnosed to be the cause in those patients who have been suffering from chronic abdominal pain, change in bowel habits, remarkable loss of weight and appetite. A good piece of advice could be that you should immediately consult a physiologist if you notice any of these symptoms.
The causes of stomach pain on right side described above are many, but this list is not complete. There can be numerous other reasons behind right side tummy pain.
