Abdominal Muscles Pain
Pain experienced in the muscles of the abdomen is referred to as abdominal muscles pain. This anatomical area is surrounded at the top by lower ribs, pelvic bones below, flanks present on either sides. Most of the times, abdominal muscles pain arises in the tissues of the abdominal wall, that cover the abdominal cavity. The pain may also originate from organs like colon, liver, stomach, small intestine, pancreas and gallbladder, inside the abdominal cavity. In some cases, even though, the pain does not develop in the abdominal cavity, a person can experience pain in the abdomen. When a person experiences pain in the organs, close to the abdominal cavity, like the kidneys, lower lungs, etc., then there are chances of the pain arising in the abdominal muscles. This pain might also cause abdominal muscles back pain. Most of the times, abdominal pain may be observed in combination with other symptoms, like diarrhea and rectal bleeding, which are also symptoms of abdominal muscles pain.

Causes of Abdominal Muscles Pain
Stretching or distention of an organ can lead to pain in abdominal muscles. Obstruction of an intestine can also cause pain in abdominal muscles. Unlimited supply of blood to a particular organ can also give rise to abdominal pain. The other reason for abdominal muscles pain, is swelling of the liver. Abnormal contraction of the intestinal muscles like spasm can lead to abdominal muscle strain. If the nerves present inside the abdomen become very sensitive, they may give rise to painful sensations. Pneumonia and heart attack can also lead to abdominal pain. Diseases associated with pelvis and groin, can cause pain in the abdominal muscles. Some people might also experience abdominal pain after eating.

How to Treat Abdominal Muscles Pain?
The first and foremost step is to find out the characteristics of the pain in abdominal muscles. Knowing the characteristics will help you understand the reason for the pain. It might also help you to know from where the pain is exactly originating. After knowing its characteristics, you can go for the physical examination which will help in the actual treatment. Most of the times, the patient has to be operated, in order to get rid of the pain. But, if the pain is due to a minor reasons, then it can be cured with the help of medicines. If the abdominal pain is not accompanied by vomiting, fever, chest or any other kind of serious symptom, then the pain is not critical, and might pass off within a week. For treating this minor kind of pain, you can use a heating pad. A warm water bath may also help to some extent. If the pain is caused due to bowel spasm, then a shot in the arm, hip or leg may help. Throwing up may also, help in relieving the pain. So, consume drinks and food to induce vomiting. A cramp-like pain signifies a major problem in the abdomen and hence, medical treatment should be taken as soon as possible, in such cases. In order to reduce the pain or get relief from the pain, you can do some abdominal exercises at home.
