The light flooded the living room and Diane opened her eyes.
What a nightmare. she thought, slowly relaxing , and stiffening up. Last night was no nightmare.
Last night's conversation with Brad and Brett hit her hard. Diane slowly got up and noticed she had nothing on.
"My God!" she yelled at herself, and quickly scavenged up her clothes and got them on.
Brett got into the living room with hardly any breath.
"What's wrong?" he gasped.
"I shouldn't be here; what have I done!" she whined.

"You did nothing, well, you did something last night
together. Beyond that point, what are you talking about?"
"About everything! I'm supposed to stop you ending the world, and then here I am in bed with you. I'm so confused." Diane sat down on the couch.
Brett walked over to Diane, sat down on the coffee table, and grabbed her hands.
"Diane, you know that I told you that I been dreaming about you; it keeps going back and forth between fights and passion. I think fate hasn't decided your future yet. I know you really don't know me, but I'm worried about you. I hope the elders told you when angry, powers can be dangerous."

Diane sighed and shook her head, "they never told me about any emotions. All they said was to be prepared to find an evil guy. I always thought of someone older. thirties, but you're like what twenty-two. They drilled a lot of bad things in my head about you, but I never let it sink in. Death is horrible, I couldn't kill a fly. People always treated me nicely all because I'm destined to save the world." Diane whispered, "but what people don't see is that I can destroy this world."
Brett's eyes went straight on Diane, and he made her look at him.
"You can't have that power," he muttered.
"I don have that kind of power. When they found out, they kept me contained until I was trained to handle it. Those was my worst years of my life. I thought it was getting better, dating Brad, but it didn't seem to fill that missing spot within me. I started to dreaming of you and something clicked. It scared me, trying to keep it buried away from everyone, especially the bond." Then Diane started to cry, and she hugged Brett.

Brett tightly held her, starting to feel Diane's hurt feelings.
"You're safe with me. I won't let those witches hurt you anymore."
Diane looked up and met his orange eyes, "I believe you. We have a bond, and it feels better than brad's."
They both got up and walked towards the kitchen together. Diane's head felt light and dizzy.
"Brett, you better catch me..." she slurred and fell into unconsciousness.
