A Winter's Tale
A little story to brighten up the coming winter months.

And the leaves lie crisp and golden,
In the cold autumnal morn,
Of a breathless sigh, unspoken,
To the tune of winter's song,
And we lay beneath the blankets
To await the snows that come,
On the cold winds from the arctic.
I shall stay with you till spring
In the comfort of our cabin,
And we'll face what Jack Frost brings,
While we fraternize with Robin,
As he sits upon our sill,
Chirping songs, so sweet and tender,
To warm the winter chills,
That do bite upon your fingers.
I will hold your hand in mine
And whisper words of wisdom,
To ease your worried mind,
While we make the new year welcome,
As it brightens up the dawn
With the beauty of a snowdrop,
That blooms upon the lawn,
And the snows melt with the teardrops.
Soon the sun returns your smile
With a kiss of springtime wonder,
And it lingers for a while
In a breath of awesome nature,
That blooms before the world
In a blast of wondrous glory,
Shining from your heart of gold...
A love that burns for me only.
