A Winter Love Poem
A little story to enlighten the coming winter months.
I was smitten in a short warm moment,
As soon as I saw you and looked into your eyes,
Cupid, flying on the wings of an angel,
Passed a love between us that can't be denied.
The cold air sent shivers through my bones,
As migrating birds wheeled in the distant skies,
The day was cold and grey and damp,
But I felt a warmth emanate from your eyes.
Autumns gown lay crisp and golden on the pavement,
The lush green of yesterday faded to a memory,
The frost and snow would soon freeze the land,
But together, by the fire, we kept the cold away.
We sang songs of Christmas and exchanged presents,
I gave you a ring with a diamond stone,
And you gave me something I had always wanted,
A love so solemn and so deeply profound.
I watched you float by on twilight shadow,
You moved with elegance, grace and style,
I was still watching as you laid down the candle,
Then climbed into bed with me for a while.
We made love and anointed ourselves in our fluids,
Then we lay back contented in each others mood,
You told me of all the dreams that you wished,
And I promised to endeavor to make them come true.
Those stolen moments of love and desire,
Kindled by the flame that burned in our hearts,
We made a bond that would keep us together,
Forever and always, and never to part.
