A Walk in the Sunset Ch. 3
Ana Marie encounters a new boy at the mall but takes a slight turn once Manuel tries to put his charm on her and a fight breaks out...
**Ana Marie**
"Excuse me but that's my table", says this good looking boy right next to me. He had blond hair and green eyes. He had a nice built and posture, possibly could've been a model. But had the WORST personality ever. "Uhm, since when do you own this mall?" I responded with such attitude that even the people around had dropped their food and glared at what was happening in front of them. "Ma'am my dad owns this mall. So watch yourself cutie," he said smiling. This guy swears that he owns me. So I just kept eating because he didn't own me. He decides to join me while I eat my chicken wrap. You have to be kidding me. There was a reason I didn't really find guys like him attractive. They were all desperate losers with over self-confidence.
While I was eating, I saw a boy with black hair and chocolate eyes ordering pizza. He seemed like he was pretty interested in the food and in his friends. Isn't he supposed to be in school? Instead, I just observed him. He was pretty tall about 6'3 and was pretty strong. Right under his black shirt, you could see a tattoo. He turns around and scans the perimeter of the cafeteria for a table. He looks at where I'm sitting and notices that I'm annoyed. He starts to walk to my table. Oh, this is great, I think. "Oye meng, didn't you notice that this senorita doesn't really want anything to do with you?" He smiled and scared him enough for him to leave me alone. The douche went into Hollister right across from the food court and surrendered. I was wrong.
**Manuel**
Oh, the freedom of not being in school. It's jail for kids. I think that school should be a punishment for kids that act out. Being a kid is the good years. Los anos buenos. Instead my mama wants me to "learn something nice". Whatever. I think I'll "learn something" at the food court. I go to the pizza part of the food court and I spot a long legged brunette right next to the Subway stand. But then, I see a blond maricon sitting right in front of her making her life miserable. I turn around and mind my own business. Maybe that's her boyfriend. I get my bacon pizza and soda and I feel like there are eyes burning on my back. I turn around and look for seats. There's nothing here. I turn to my friend Carlos and tell him to look for seats and that I'll be back.
I tap on the shoulder of the Abercrombie model and tell him to leave the girl alone. Right when I'm going to leave her alone, I hear a little voice ask me why they did that. "Because I'm part of the welcoming committee here in Miami." She laughs and stands up. I try to not stare at her long, tan legs in her skirt and tell her my name. "I'm Manuel and you are?" "I'm Ana Maria. I'm new here." She looked really out of place here. She was obviously not from here. "Where are you from, chiquita?" She had no idea what I said. "I meant to say is where are you from?" I laughed under my breath when I heard that she was from up north. "Damn, and what brought you to the Sunshine State?" She told me the story but I was rudely interrupted by the douche when he had about three douche looking guys behind him. Shit, are you serious? He's going to fight me? I'm a gang member... so yeah I have nothing to lose.
He throws the first punch and misses. I laugh when he kicks me in the huevos right in front of Ana Maria. This is not impressive. I try to regain my composure when one of the guys smashes my head into a table. I get up and punch his nose and his gut. That's one down. Two to go. I dance a little with the brunette and hit him in the face. He's crying on the floor. The third guy runs away. Wow. I look around and I can't see Ana Maria anywhere. Great.
