A Wake

The one person she trust and love invades her privacy, while she pretends to be asleep.
My eyes are closed
Yet, I hear the opening of my bedroom door
Tears begin to form into my eyes
Of knowing what is in stored

Cold hands cause my body to shiver
As they move up my legs
Wishing there was somewhere…anywhere to escape
My body begin to cringe just knowing what this mad man crave

Then he whispers in my ear
"Have no fear, daddy’s here"
I am screaming from deep in my soul
How can the one who brought me into this world be so cold?

I want to scream, "Stop"
I want to run away
Knowing there is no escaping him when he is this way
So instead, I pretend to be sleep

I have searched for answers
I have listen to excuses "he’s drunk"
I have asked for help
I have even tried killing myself

I am the victim of humiliation
My privacy have been violated
However, for right now, all I can do is sleep
In addition, pretend this horrific incident is not happening to me.
