A Teenage Crisis Chapter 10b
James fight with the demons, Kaylin and Tinzy meet.
The wolf in James snarled loudly. Leaping off the rooftop to the gangway was an easy mater for him. He landed with a muffled thud as his now bare feet hit cement. Springing back up, he ran, all the while yanking his clothes off. It took mere milliseconds to call the wolf and Transform. The wolf rounded the corner as it started to drizzle then rain.
The wolf snickered as it saw what it faced: All dark green dog-like creatures with sinewy jaws and razor teeth. Instead of fur the demons had scales on their bellies and their tails were barbed feathers. The wolf immediately tackled the first one. As soon it was on the ground the wolf snapped at its face, tearing jaw, cheek and eyes away from its flesh. The green blood sprayed over the wolf’s fur but it took no notice as it wasted no time to grab the next one by the hind quarters and flail it back and force. This action forced the last creature’s remains to be swallowed by the wolf.
Hearing the distorted dog yelp in pain as it stayed down, the last creature leaped high in the air. However the wolf was not slow or stupid as it jumped in the air meeting the demon halfway bringing it down with a crack of the creature’s bones. To the wolf’s expectations the demon kept at it. With its back turned, the wolf fought the demon the previous demon seized this moment to lash out at the wolf with its claws, leaving behind a deep scratch. The wolf’s eyes glowed in anger. Suddenly the wolf clamped its jaws onto the rear leg of the demon it was facing and slammed it against a nearby brick wall. Before it could get up he had already thrown the other demon against it as well. Still holding onto the demon the wolf smashed it against cement, demon and wall. He did not stop until all that was left was a bloodied mess for the rain to wash away.
The wolf stood in the now pouring rain, ignoring the sting of the demon scratch on its lower left leg. Taking a deep breath the wolf instantly regretted it because its body heaved as if to throw up. The wolf shuddered once, then heaved again, which in turn forced the Transformation. Now James, on his hands and knees, heaved as well and shuddered with all his might.
James ran back in the rain, naked, to the gangway to get his clothes. As he was about to put his pants on, he stopped. Looking down he could see that the scratch was poisoned. Green stuff was oozing out mingling with blood and refusing to let the wound heal. He took his shirt and ripped it. Guess I’ll have to go shirtless for now. Finally pulling his pants on, James knocked on Kathleen’s door. Kaylin is going to flip out when she finds out where she is going. He thought with a smile.
*Kaylin*
"What do you mean I’m going with him whether I like it or not?!" She looked at her grammie for some backup.
"Kaylin it is for the best."
"For who grammie?"
"For you." James interrupted.
"Shut up James! Go-Go put a shirt on!" Kaylin shouted at him. It was bad enough that her grammie was sending her away with James, but he had returned from wherever he was without a shirt!
:: And you like it Kaylin, just admit it. :: Came Dardon’s voice.
:: Nobody asked you! ::
:: Just making an inner observation. You do know I can feel your heart skip a beat every time I mention James? ::
"Shut up Dardon!" Kaylin said out loud. Grammie and James looked at her in wonder.
"Kaylin Emily Mossant, you are leaving with him whether you like it or not now get home and start packing."
"But- I," Kaylin started.
"Now."
Kaylin stared at her in disbelief. Her eyes started to water, and she let the flow freely as she headed for the door. She pulled Dardon’s golden cord.
:: As soon as I get the chance, can I go back in Trance, like earlier? ::
:: Sure. ::
*James*
After Kaylin was out of ear shout Kathleen spoke with more formality towards James. "James it would please me greatly to know that you would take care of her with your life if need be."
"That’s my job Kathleen."
"Yet one, such as myself, would observe that the room smells of demon poison coming from you. It would be best if you let your mother tend to your wounds."
"Do not worry Kathleen, I am strong."
"Well, then, farewell James and may good health find you soon enough."
James left and found himself at the door of Kaylin’s apartment in seconds. He had only been to her house once, but once was enough for him to observe and memorize her entire living space. When he entered, he sensed Kaylin, for she was part demon and connected to one, barred up in her room. James knocked but was greeted to silence.
"You are coming whether you like it or not." James did not wait for her to reply or even open the door herself, he simply kicked the door clean off its from and started packing her clothes from each of her drawers in a duffle bag that was on her bed. She stood in shock, and it wasn’t until he started to open her underwear drawer that she did anything to stop him. Too late though, James smirked as he reached for the first thing he saw and slipped sideways from Kaylin’s lunging form.
"Stop!"
"Oh wow." James held out his prize, raising one of his eyebrows, all signs of pain temporarily forgotten. A very lacy type of underwear and bra. Almost see-through. Lingerie. "You should wear this."
"Get out now." She glared at him.
"Oh no, we have to go, so…" James grabbed her arm lightly and her bag and in second they were in his mom’s shop.
Unexpectedly Kaylin slapped the back of James’ head. Two laughs were heard, both female. James and Kaylin looked at the two females, one clearly old, yet full of life, and the other, young and as beautiful as any traditional angel.
The old woman spoke, "Well its not everyday that someone slaps my son James without seeing his anger."
"Hi mom!"
"Do not just stand there James like if nothing is wrong with you, get your rookie ass over here so we can see to that nasty wound. Damn it, first week and you’re about to die because you are so stubborn." Said the angel next to James’ mom.
"Tinzy, where is Jack?"
He asked as his mother started to look at the long dark green scratch on his left leg.
*Kaylin*
"Out at the market." Finally as if just now noticing Kaylin, the angel went wide eyed. "You’re the demampyre." The angel named Tinzy asked Kaylin, yet she said it as a statement.
"Yes."
"Have you caught a vision with the pendant?"
"Um, what?"
Tinzy rounded onto James, but just as he was about to speak, he collapsed despite his mother’s efforts.
"James!" The three magical women yelled in unison as James rushed deeper and deeper into utter darkness.
