A Teenage Crisis - Chapter Six
Tinzy goes home to take a shower.
SIX
Outside the bedroom window lurked the demon named Pernicious. He stared in and watched as that pathetic vampire restrained himself from doing anything to that new-breed Angel. He was sure of it now because Angels are most vulnerable in their sleep where their unique magic dripped out of their body. A green mist hung from her skin as it wreaked full of magic in the room. The vampire could sense it because it was driving him insane.
Jack woke up to the sun hitting his face. This is one of the upsides of being a half-blood. I can still be in the sun without anything happening to me. He looked around the room and noticed Tinzy was sitting on the sofa across from him. He jumped up.
"Good morning." She said a little too cheerfully.
"Uh…"
"So you don’t burn in the sun? Interesting. Is there anything else you want to tell me?"
Besides the fact that I want you in a way no other guy has ever wanted a woman, not really. He shook that thought away. "Wait, you tried to fry me? Why?"
"That’s my business."
Now it was Jack who looked at Tinzy with hate.
"Listen it’s been nice knowing you but I have to go. Thanks for all you have done." With that she left out of his apartment.
Jack got up from the sofa wondering what the hell that had been about. He went into his bathroom and brushed his mouth and took a shower. He changed, grabbed his sword and left his apartment ready to start a new day keeping an eye on Tinzy.
Tinzy jumped into the steaming hot shower, letting the water pummel her sore back. Tinzy was also fuming with anger. Her dad was gone for the week on a business trip. He left her some money so she can buy whatever she might need while he was gone.
First she was almost captured by three demons but only to find that they call her the long awaited one. Then she flies over plenty of people to see all of her. On top of that, she bumps into a half-vampire, half-wizard claiming to want to help her. Last but definitely not least, she dreams about Jack’s wizard father saying that she needed to save the world with him. Starting today life is just going to get worse Tinzy. She heard a familiar voice coming from her mind. It was without a doubt her mothers’ voice.
She got out of the shower and changed. Tinzy was about to go downstairs when she heard a bump coming from the kitchen. She froze.
"Dad?" No sound. She strained her ears as best as she could. Amazingly she could hear a heartbeat coming from the kitchen. With this I grant your blood the power to live. Jack’s father’s words echoed back to her. What did they mean? Does that mean I have powers? She closed her eyes and let her mind wander. She let her mind open its book and found what she was looking for. She saw that there were six demons downstairs.
"Chinook!" She shouted in Diezthre to the assailants downstairs.
"Tes lenat Jinook Lietet Auk." We come for you long awaited one. Tinzy ran downstairs closed her eyes and let her mind take over. She threw up her hands and shouted the same words her mother said those many years ago.
"Lekinn inaught padok emnanu herisse!" Gold flames erupted from her fingers blasting through the three first demons. The other three found cover. They threw some magic at her but Tinzy waved it off like it was some bothersome fly. They gaped at her as Tinzy threw more flames at them. When only one was left she decided to question it. If only she had the chance because at that moment of hesitation another presence filled the room. Tinzy was not fully trained enough to feel the presence sooner as the demon came down hard on her shoulders. With her breath knocked out of her, Tinzy tried to get up but the unseen force held her down by some magical means. Her mind felt as if it were being invaded. It felt like rape. That was the only thing she could describe that came even close. Her face was full of tears and her body was shaking with convulsions. She drifted in and out of consciousness. She felt her body being stabbed with tiny pinpricks. She felt her blood being drawn out. Then there was nothing but cold blackness.
Jack was sitting in his rented car when he heard a bump coming from Tinzy’s kitchen. He already knew the layout of the house but never actually went inside. He got out of the car and went to the side of the house. He listened again. Nothing. He waited there for a few more moments until he heard a bunch of gibberish. He ran to the back and opened the door but to his surprise he could not go in. He looked along the side of the door to find that sure enough an old incantation was place over the threshold.
"Tinzy!"
He waited until the incantation was lifted. He rushed into the house swerving the tables and counters of the kitchen. Out of his peripheral vision he saw a demon. Kuzac. Sensing a faint heartbeat coming from the foot of the stairs he rushed to it to find Tinzy laying on her stomach. Oh my God, Tinzy please don’t die.
He carefully picked her up and rushed her to his car. Gathering a couple of her things from her room he left a note on the refrigerator explaining to her dad in brief what had happened and where he was taking her.
