A Sweet Poison - Chapter 25 - The Finale
Hey all readers, thanks a lot for all your support throughout this story. I'm really pleased to complete it. This is the last chapter and I hope you all enjoy it. Please comment for the last time!
10 Years Later
My hands were a sticky mess as I was busy kneading dough to make chappatis. It was May-a typical summer month. I could feel my forehead wet with sweat. Suddenly, DJ came from behind me and wiped my head with his cool hand. As I turned to smile at him, he went on to embrace me from behind.
"Hey, can I help you somehow Sarah?"
"Well, please go away. Or I'll get distracted enough to spoil our breakfast!" I said naughtily.
Suddenly, our two-year old only beloved daughter came inside the kitchen, rubbing her eyes with one hand and holding a teddy bear with another. She was our angel, her presence could alone light up any room. She had jet black curls bouncing softly along her creamy fair face up to her shoulders. Her eyelashes were extremely well-defined and to me, she was the most beautiful toddler in the whole world. Huh, she was a symbol of our union, our love. DJ and me were combined in her. She had my nose and lips, his dark brown eyes, my skin, his height....and so on....
"What's for breakfast, mommy?" She stammered, making me smile.
DJ quickly scooped her up and perched her up on his shoulders. The loving father... she broke into peals of laughter, making us laugh with her.
"What would you like, Rina?"
"Chocos!" She exclaimed.
"Chocos will be for you then."
Yes, we'd named her Rina, after my dear dead best friend. It seemed like a fitting tribute to name our only daughter after her. After her brutal death, DJ had been my pillar of support and strength. I was able to cope up with my trauma just due to him. After a few years of companionship, we didn't need words, we knew we loved each other and that we would always love each other till eternity. As the adage goes, 'The strongest love is the love that is silent and not expressed.'
We had got married three years ago, in a huge ceremony, much to our parents' happiness, since they were great friends.
Now, DJ was an army officer and I was a freelance writer. I was working on a novel to be published in a few months time.
Yeah, life was complete and I was greatly thankful to everything that God had given me. I couldn't really have asked for more.
++++The End++++
My note to readers
So chapter 25 is the end to the story, 'A Sweet Poison'.
Any doubts, comments, remarks or observations, then please leave a comment. I'd be extremely grateful if you do so. It would help me to grow as a writer.....
I hope to be back with another story. Till then, thank you readers for all your support. I really loved this writing experience on Buzzle.
Thanking you.
