A Summer To Remember Chapter 4
Chapter 4 - Unexpected Guests...
The next morning I woke up in my bed. I looked around confused, wondering how I had gotten there. I got up and went to the bathroom then downstairs. I heard noises coming from the basement, so I decided to go down a look. I walked down the stairs slowly and quietly. Once I was in the basement I saw the TV, the games, and sofa. I had forgotten all about the basement game room. Gavin was sitting on the sofa playing my dad's old XBOX. I walked over and sat next to Gavin.
"Morning." I said plopping onto the sofa.
"Morning." he said coldly.
"Did you put me in my bed last night?"
"Uh huh." he said not really paying attention to me.
"Thanks... so what did you do yesterday after I left?" I asked laying my head on his shoulder.
"Nothing." he said knocking my head off his shoulder and getting up.
"What's your problem?" I asked turning and looking at him.
"It's nothing." he said going upstairs.
"Something’s bothering you, so tell me." I said chasing after him.
"You... I... forget it." he said going to his room.
"Gavin!" I shouted running upstairs.
"Look, I don't want to talk about it."
The doorbell rang just as he shout his door in my face. I ran downstairs to answer it. I opened the door and saw Lorenz standing there and I was still in my clothes from last night. He pulled me into a hug and kissed me on the cheek. He looked like he was going to kiss me on the lips, but was unsure if he should, or could. I smiled and let him walk in.
"So what brings you over here at... um 10:45 in the morning?"
"I wanted to know if you wouldn't mind accompanying me to my cousins wedding reception?" he asked.
"Yeah sure... when is it?" I asked smiling.
"It's in an hour."
"An hour! I have to get ready."
"Okay." I kissed him on the lips as he walked out the door. I figured it was okay, because we were kind of dating.
I ran upstairs, jumped into the shower. I got out the shower and pulled out any semi- formal wear I had packed. I decided to wear the black skirt with the red top and red heels. I found the black silk button up shirt to wear over the red sleeveless one. I didn't button it all the way, only to the middle. I pulled my hair up into a neat smooth bun with a bang. I grabbed my bag and called Lorenz. Within two minutes he was knocking on my door.
"You look great." he said when I opened the door.
"So do you." I said smiling. Not only did he look good in that suit, but he smelled good to. How I loved the smell of Axe. Which made me believe he didn't have any real cologne, but I didn't care he smelt good either way. I grabbed him and hugged him. Just so I could get a better whiff.
"You smell so good." I whispered in his ear.
"So do you, like watermelon." he said smelling my neck then kissing it. There was this undeniable sexual tension between us. It was like after that kiss last night something in our relationship woke up. The passion and the uncontrollable need to touch and kiss one another had grown.
"We should get going." I said letting him go.
"Yeah... don't want to be late." he said.
"Is Crystal coming?" I asked as we walked to his car.
"Nah... that's why I asked you." he said with a smile.
At the wedding reception everyone greeted Lorenz with a hug and a where's your sister. They seemed to be heartbroken she didn't come. Even his cousin Stefania the bride was disappointed. But when Lorenz introduced them to me they all said aren't you cute and some Aunt asked is there a wedding in the future. I'm only 18... I'm not ready for marriage. Even as we sat eating our food people would come up and say how cute of couple we were.
Then it was time for the bride to throw the bouquet and I was forced to go out there. I said I wasn't going to try and catch it and when she threw it I had my hand out in a fake attempt to catch it. The bouquet was flying in the air and then it was in my hand. I was shocked, I wasn't even trying and I still got it. Then it was time for the guys to catch the little thing that goes on the brides leg. They forced Lorenz out there like they forced me. He stood there as the groom threw the thing and all the guys jumped back, but for some reason the thing fell on Lorenz.
I came back out onto the floor smiling at Lorenz. Where I sat in a chair and he slid the thing up my leg. I kissed him as he got off the floor. When his cousin yelled out "Do I hear wedding bells." Everyone laughed. Before leaving Lorenz introduced me to his mother and father who were very late and had missed everything. His mother was just like the aunt. Ready to plan a wedding before we are even sure about our relationship. When we left everyone shouted goodbye and when's the wedding.
"Did you have fun?" Lorenz asked as we pulled out the parking lot.
"Yeah... your family is great." I said smiling.
"Good... I thought all that wedding talk would scare you off." he said with a smile.
"It takes more than a little wedding talk to get rid of me." I said leaning over and kissing him at the red light. When the light changed I sat back in my seat and rubbed the back of his neck softly.
"Wanna come over and hang?" he asked.
"Is Crystal going to be there?"
"Nah... she went to see her best friend in San Fransisco."
"Okay... then yeah... I'll come over. After I change."
Lorenz dropped me off in front of my house. As I ran up the walk I could see Gavin in the window staring at me. I waved at him and he rolled his eyes and walked away from the window. Ever since last night Gavin's been acting strangely. Like I've done something to upset him and I was going to get to the bottom of it one way or another. I walked into the house and went straight upstairs to change. As I was changing Gavin came and stood in the doorway.
"So where did you go today?" he asked coldly.
"A wedding." I said putting some shorts on.
"You and your little boyfriend sure are hanging out a lot."
"Yeah... I'm on my way over there now." I said grabbing my black skull print converses.
"So he's your boyfriend now."
"Yeah... maybe." and just like that Gavin was gone. He had went downstairs. Sometimes he could be such a girl. I grabbed my jacket and ran after him.
"What's your problem?!" I shouted.
"I thought this was our trip!" he shouted.
"It is."
"Then why are you hanging out with someone that's not me!"
I didn't know what to say. I was hanging out with Lorenz and having a good time too. But I had forgotten about Gavin and how this was our trip, our last trip together. I was getting ready to say something when the doorbell rang. I opened the door to a surprise.
"Reggie... Stace... Greg... Brady? What are you guys doing here?" I asked obviously confused.
"We're here to spend our last summer with two of our best friends." Reggie said smiling.
"But... you said-."
"I know what I said and I was able to get out of what I had to do." she said brushing her long brown hair out her face.
"Aren't you happy to see us?" Stacey asked.
"Of course I am... it's just I was on my way to meet someone." I said smiling.
"Is it a guy?" Reggie asked eagerly.
"I'll tell you later... first let me show you your rooms." I said walking upstairs with Stacey and Reggie trailing behind. Greg and Brady didn't follow. Instead they stayed downstairs and talked with Gavin.
"Whats up with you and Steph?" Brady asked.
"Nothing." Gavin walked upstairs to his room. Greg and Brady followed.
Me and Reggie decided to share a room. Stacey was sharing my parents old room with Greg her boyfriend of three years. Stacey quickly unpacked and came back over to my room. I was just about to tell them about Lorenz when Gavin walked in.
"We need to talk... meet on the patio later tonight." he whispered in my ear and left.
"What was that about?" Reggie asked.
"Nothing."
"So who is this mystery guy?" Stacey asked eagerly.
"His name is Lorenz and he lives next door. He's great you guys. He's so cute, so funny, and so sweet. Did I mention he's so cute. He has this smile... I mean his smile is just so-."
"Gavin." Reggie said with giggle.
"Not quite, but close. He's great you guys and I really like him." I said with a smile.
"How'd you meet?" Reggie asked.
"He and his sister came over our second day here. She asked if we wanted to hangout and I said yeah. But what she meant was, I'll hangout with Gavin, you hangout with my twin brother."
"They're twins!" Reggie and Stacey shouted shocked.
"Yeah, but have totally different personalities."
"So that's why you and Gavin aren't together... they got in the way." Stacey said.
"What do you mean together?" Reggie elbowed Stacey in the arm.
"She doesn't mean together together, but close. We could feel the tension as soon as walked in." she said. I was about to tell them about our fight and how strange Gavin was acting when my phone rang.
"Hello... oh hey Lorenz... I can't come over today... the rest of my friends are here." I said answering the phone.
"Invite him over." Reggie whispered.
"Uh huh... no." I said covering the mouth of the phone.
"Do it... invite him." Stacey said and she and Reggie began chanting do it.
"Fine... do you wanna come over here and meet them?" I asked. "Great see you in a few." I hung up the phone and looked at Reggie and Stacey with disdain, but they just smiled.
With a few minute there was a knock at the door. I ran down the stairs yelling I'll get it, but it was to late by the time I got down there Gavin was opening the door. And there in the doorway stood Lorenz. Gavin said hey and walked away. He noticed me on the steps, so he walked over and whispered "Don't forget the patio." I shook my head then went to the door and hugged Lorenz. Stacey and Reggie came down and as soon as they saw us they smiled two big grins. I knew I was in for a long night.
"Morning." I said plopping onto the sofa.
"Morning." he said coldly.
"Did you put me in my bed last night?"
