A Step In My Direction
A poem I wrote for English class last year.
Is better than to have not loved at all.
What a Joke?
I loved, yet never had,
I couldn’t have lost, because
I never had, but it still feels like it.
The truth is I was too scared,
Too scared to lose, to actually take
That step and then fall.
I should have leaped to you when
You were close enough
But now it’s too late for me… and us.
If I took a step in your direction
Would you take a step in mine?
We could meet in the middle
And walk together in one direction.
