A Slayer like Me Wears Designer Clothing
Susannah witnessed the slaughter of her family but was saved by a vampire. She had a childhood crush on him and hoped he'd love her back, until the one night that changed everything. Now, he's back but they aren't safe, because as always there's a dark side...one that may kill their whole race.
Hi there, sorry it's been a long time since I've written anything, but I've had midterms. >.< you know how we all hate those exams! But now, luckily they're over and it's the holidays for me :) :) here's just a teaser for A Slayer Like Me Wears Designer Clothing.

"Ouch! Damn it!" I rubbed my sore leg.
Crash!
"Bloody hell!" the man swore.
"Sorry!" I said, "I…uh…have loose wheels on my trolley.
The man grunted and turned away.
"Thanks a lot!" I hissed to the laughing voice in my ear.
"You’re welcome!" a laughing voice on the other end replied.
"That wasn’t funny," I said.
"It sure did sound that way to me!"
I sighed, "Could you at least TRY to make my day better?"
The laughter died down, "Oh, I’m sorry Suze, but you know it wasn’t my fault!"
I grumbled.
"By the way, the reason I called is because the Council is holding a meeting and you’re on the list of attendees."
I sighed, "Where?"
"Venice, Italy," came the humming voice.
"WHAT?!" I shrieked. Everyone in the mall looked at me. I smiled weakly, my cheeks going red.
Taking my cell-phone from between my shoulder and ear, I held it quietly to my mouth, "What the hell are you talking about Rachel? I can’t go to Italy, semester hasn’t ended yet!"
"Well, look here Suze, you have two options, go there willingly or have them hunt you down."
I shuddered at the second option, "Damn, it’s short notice. Do you know why?"
I heard shuffling of papers on the other end, "Apparently, this is a large-scale meeting, the report didn’t really specify what it was about really, but…I have a feeling that it isn’t to congratulate anyone for their…achievements…"
I saw a packet of chocolate and put it into the trolley without a second thought. I was going to need as much as I could get.
"Mmhm, I see," I said. I didn’t really, but it’s just something I thought I should say at the time. "What time do I have to be there?"
"12.00 a.m. sharp."
I sighed. Why did the council have to hold it in the middle of the night?
"Fine, I’ll be there."
"Great! You’re tickets should be in your mail."
I hung up. The council was ruled by narrow-minded, arrogant and prejudiced elders. Whatever this meeting was for, it couldn’t be good.
As if reinforcing my thought, lightning flashed outside and rain bet heavily against the windows. Something was definitely up.
I made my way to the cashier just as another roll of thunder crashed.
The lights went out. Groans echoed the mall. Everyone started mumbling and complaining. Everything was so dark; it was unnerving to have all your vision cut off at once. As my eyes adjusted, I realized I was still walking.
Bang!
"Damn it! Not again!" growled a voice.
"Oh, I’m sorry! I wasn’t looking where I was going."
"Yeah, I can see that! The second time that’s happened to me! The second time! The first was some dumb blonde on the phone!"
Just then the lights turned on.
I stared into the man I had crashed into earlier.
My cheeks went bright red with embarrassment while his went red because of frustration.
I turned away quickly before he could say anything, ditching my trolley.
Just as I turned, I saw him. At least I think I did. He stood there in the shadows; his gaze wasn’t focused on me, but on those around him.
He looked different now, the once smiling roguish, not to mention handsome man I had a crush on when I was a teenager, was now much, much taller. His body filled out his clothing nicely. I could see his muscles bulging as he folded his arms across his chest. He wasn’t packed with muscles like those wrestlers, but had just enough to make a girl look.
His hair was longer, it dipped over his eyes. His jaw was squared with a slight tilt to give him an arrogant look. But it was his eyes that had always captivated me, those dark eyes, those dark silver eyes that could hold and rid a girl of all thoughts. Longing surged in my chest and my breathing quickened. It couldn’t be him, not now…what was he doing here? As if he’d read my mind his gaze locked on to mine. I froze, my breath leaving me in a rush. Those penetrating eyes…they could see right into my soul.
A woman walked in front of me, shielding my view, but when she passed…
He was gone.
I shook my head to clear my thoughts. I hadn’t seen him in years. There was no way he’d show up now. I was hallucinating, but then I reminded myself, even hallucinations don’t look that real. I walked outside, clutching my coat around me. It was getting colder by the second. Rain started to beat down heavily, unusual during this time of year. I hurried inside my car and put the key in the ignition.
As I glanced at the rear view mirror I shrieked as I saw a pair of hideous yellow eyes staring back at me. My heart was in my throat, I couldn’t breathe a word. I normally didn’t freeze up like this I’d usually go into combat mode once I felt an intruder, but this time was different. I felt cold. I felt so cold. Terror built up in my throat. I blinked a few times, and it was gone.
I turned around slowly, checking the back seat. Nothing was there. It was empty. I breathed out a sigh of relief, trying to slow my racing heart. I rubbed my arms, trying to stimulate warmth. Just then, as I started my car, I looked up.
And that’s when I saw him standing there.
