A Slayer Like Me Wears Designer Clothing (5)

Lust, meet love...
Hey guys! sorry about the long wait, i was out camping. here's the chapter!

Chapter 5

I landed softly, as if I had just been lying on the ground the whole time.
Warm sunlight streamed across my skin and my body was cushioned by soft golden sand. I was afraid to move, my senses were heightened as I carefully observed my surroundings from my position. I wasn’t on the road anymore, that much I knew.

I was afraid to move, afraid of the blind-numbing pain that I knew would shoot through my body. Very slowly I stretched out one leg, testing myself to see how badly hurt I was. I didn’t feel anything, slowly I started to stretch my whole body out.

I sighed at the relief, all the pain was mysteriously gone. Cautiously, I stood up, looking all around me. I was on a tropical beach of some sort. Tall palm trees gently swayed in the breeze, as I turned to my right, I was facing a clear blue ocean.

It was paradise.

Suddenly, I heard a groan from behind me. Whirling around, my stance in combat mode, I looked for the intruder. It was him again. The angel. Though for some reason, in this…this ‘world’ I was not as hypnotized by his beauty as I was in the other one.

He slowly stood up, his hand clutching his side. That’s when I remembered what had happened. He had said, he was, "marked" by me. I didn’t know what he was talking about though. I was poised to strike as he stood at full height, as he had nearly tried to attack me earlier.

He hissed at me, "Who is thee, Slayer?"

"I could ask you the same question," I replied coolly.

With these…magical beings, soft words would not move them, nor tears or cries. For many of them were centuries old and were often hardened by time and prejudice.

"Thou should do well to remember thy place," he spoke in old tongue.
I lifted my chin slightly in defiance, "And you should remember that we, by right are each made equal."

A shout of laughter erupted from him, it was musical, yet harsh.
Strands of his golden hair danced in the soft breeze, "Thouself ask of much."

"As do you," I said.

A corner of one very tempting mouth lifted up, "Thou is a refreshing mortal…."

"I am not a mortal!" I snapped. To be called so was an insult, it meant that you were young, inexperienced and an easy target. To be vulnerable in this world was a sign of weakness.

He laughed again, "And thou hast a lot of dare, does’t thou not know who I am?"

I glared at him my jaw locking tight.

"Return me now!" I demanded.

He glided towards me, an amused expression written all over his face, "Thou truly does not wish to know who I am?"

I scowled at him, infuriated at him knowing that I wanted to know. And then all of a sudden, I couldn’t think, I needed to find out if his skin was as smooth as it looked or if his hair was a silky as it seemed.
I couldn’t think as my mind was clouded by…by the intensity of it all.
He laughed again, "Thouself is stronger than the others…unique you are truly…"

I fought at it…I don’t know what at…but I fought against the sensation that was taking over my mind, fought to see straight, to have my own will.

"Make it stop." I gritted out

My body was locked tight, an inner battle waging in my mind and soul.

"Bow down to me human," he commanded softly.

My knees buckled but I was still half standing. My back bent in an awkward position.

"I said to…bow," he repeated.

Once again, it felt like I had no choice, that some unknown force was pushing me down.

"Bow!" he roared.

"NO!" I screamed and at that instant, something snapped inside of me, I found my place, the secret part of my mind that no one could touch. With all my might, I swung my fist at that gorgeous face of his.
He was startled by my outburst and slow to react. My fist collided with his perfect face and he staggered back.

His hand to his mouth. I looked at the side of his mouth and a crimson drop of blood fell.

"You dare!" he hissed.

Out of nowhere, a sword materialized in his hand and he pointed it to my throat.

"What are you?" I whispered. My eyes wide with both fascination and a slight hint of fear.

"Thou is not one to be asking myself questions. Thou obviously does’t not know who is in power here." The sword pressed lightly, but menacingly against my throat.

"I said bow, human," he said again.

I realized I wasn’t in a situation to refuse. Glaring at him, I went to my knees.

He chuckled, "Very good," he purred. The sword was lifted from me as he slowly circled me, like a predator testing it’s prey.

"What is thee, human?" said the Angel.

I refused to reply, my jaw locking tight. I remembered when I was younger, a life time ago. Damian was still giving me lessons on how to be a slayer. Even now, I remember the lesson he taught me that day countless years ago.

We were in the practice ring beside the castle, it was set up so that there were walls around the ring and several obstacles placed in it. The aim of the lesson was to fight off opponents in the restricted area you were in and not to be captured.

I had done well against my Guardians, I fought them off only making perhaps one mistake or two. I thought I was doing well…until Damian came. I saw him facing me in the ring.

As a child then, I was so in love, all my senses shut down. Before I knew it, he had an arm wrapped around my throat, him breathing heavily against my neck, "No matter who it is, as beautiful, ugly or even if it’s a person whom you think you know, never let your guard down." He released me and turned to face me, "You are now ‘captured’. No matter in what condition, never let anyone take control of you, if they ask you a question, deny them, but do not lie, they will know."

The eyes I had looked into then were cold without humour, without…life. I didn’t understand what he meant back then. Slayers were seldom captured and I knew I didn’t have the strength to face someone I cared for or loved….but now thinking back, I saw what he really meant.

No matter who it is, if they threaten you, kill them.

Now, as the angel circled me his eyes cold with calculations of me. He was not human, definitely not a slayer. He was too cold to be an angel, so I ruled that one out. He did not look young or old. He was….ageless.

An immortal being I mused, but what category did he fall under? There were only 4 things in this world, a slayer, like myself, A Guardian, a Rouge and a council member. Damian, was technically a vampire guardian, but he himself was a rare guardian.

He was too skilled to be a slayer and a council member or Guardian would not act this way. He was also too beautiful and sensible to be a rouge. So…what was he.

Suddenly, the pressure in my head was over-whelming, I couldn’t think…I couldn’t breathe. Suddenly, my body was aware of new sensations, of the harsh sand against my skin, the cool teasing wind that brushed against my skin and more importantly, the angel in front of me.

I stared at his lips, wondering what it would be like to have the taste of one forbidden kiss… the angel caught at where I was staring and the sword dissapeared. His mouth curved into a devilish smile.
I couldn’t think…couldn’t breathe.

One hand was soothingly in my hair as our mouths came closer and closer together…

In the distance, somewhere in my mind. I heard his voice.

His voice.

Damians.

I heard more whispers, shouting, voices…

Our lips touched, one electrifying short, touch.

And that’s when, my world came crashing down…

Sorry, once again that it took so long. I was on a two week camping trip. Anyways, I've built up a website that all you romantics can visit and chat about books or anything. It's at http://romantic-cookie.piczo.com/?cr=3
If things still look out of order or misplaced, just know that I'm still constructing it. I'm also starting up my own blog, just so that i can vent my feelings, something for fun.
