Chapter 21
Amy's POV
I woke up, intertwined with Jade, his arms around me, just like I had for the past two weeks. I sighed, getting up. Today was our last day. We were leaving later in the day. School started back up in three days.
Jade woke up, blinking against the light streaming from the window. I kissed him. "Morning!"
"M-n-g" He mumbled back.
"Somebody's sleepy!" I teased, hopping out of bed, feeling really refreshed. He half smiled. "I'm gonna go shower and then cook breakfast." I said, skipping to the bathroom.
I stood in the kitchen a half hour later in a pair of light washed skinny jeans and a yellow cami, cooking pancakes. My hair was up in a curly, wet, tangled pony tail and I had flour covering me. Jade walked in and burst out laughing. "You should have showered after you cooked." He teased coming up behind me to look at the creamy mix in the bowl.
"For your information smarty..." I started, but stopped. "Dang it... I don't know what to say."
"Well... you could always fill up the silence with kisses." Jade said, ducking his head down to peck my lips.
I grinned. "I'd love you to, but my stomach disagrees." I plopped little bits of batter onto the griddle, my mouth watering as the pancake smell started to fill the house.
Twenty minutes later, the table was set, with two plates stacked high of buttery, light brown, syrupy pancakes, two cups of orange juice, forks and knives, napkins, strawberries, bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs.
I bit into a pancake. It was surprisingly good... or maybe I was just really hungry, but Jade seemed to enjoy them too. We finally, and sadly, packed up and left.
Three days later.... The first day of school
Amy's POV
Jade's casts were off and he was fine. We got to school saying hi to some people... me less than him since I didn't have friends. Jeremy walked up as soon as the bell rang, when me and Jade had to split for classes. I was rushing to my class when he caught up to me in the hallway.
Without warning, he pushed me up against the wall and kissed me, deep and long. Shocked with the force of his kiss, and the way he had grabbed my arm, like Daren used to, I froze. Within seconds I had wrestled him off me and punched him as hard as I could. "Don't ever touch me again!" I said, shoving him to the ground and kicking at him. I went to class. Later in the day, just before lunch I turned around the corner and saw Makayla, the cheerleader pressed against Jade, kissing him.
I turned and ran towards the parking lot. I noticed him running after me. He caught up to me just before I got to my truck. "Amy wait listen!"
"No! You're cheating on me! Just like Jeremy did! I hate you!" I shoved him away from me and got in the truck, speeding off. I drove to the house... Jade's house and rushed inside. Thankfully Megan was at work. I packed up all my stuff and put it in the truck. Surprisingly, it took most of the day for me to get my clothes and everything else into my truck. Jade was just getting off the bus when I came out of the house with my last bag of clothes.
"Amy wait, where are you going? I would have followed you but I didn't have a ride and you were driving way to fast for me to run after you."
"It's none of your business where I'm going. All you have to know is I'm not staying here anymore. That should make it easier for you to go kiss Makayla." I brushed past him and went to the truck, tossing my bag into the back.
"Amy I didn't kiss her! She kissed ME! There's a huge difference there!"
"Jade, just stop. I don't care. You said you loved me, but obviously you don't. That's all there is to it." I got in the car and left.
I drove to my old house. Where I used to live with Daren. I had nothing to worry about, I told myself. He was in prison. I unpacked all my stuff into my old bedroom, feeling very at home as I went back to my truck to go buy groceries. Thankfully I had the afternoon off work so I could spend my time brightening up my house.
