A Screwed Up Life :( x

Grace's house gets burnt down.
Grace opened her eyes and saw the moon; a perfect white circle, which stood out in the clear, starry sky. The round circle was fully lit and beamed onto her fair skin. She smiled and remembered the moments of her mum telling her that the moon was made out of cheese. She closed her eyes and smiled again.

"Wh, wh what happened?" she stuttered as she frowned confusingly. "Where are Mummy, Daddy, Keri and Hannah?" she asked all at once. Silence speaks a lot Grace thought. She closed her blue eyes: breathed in and imagined herself going down a set of steps, and the more steps she walked down, the more relaxed she became. Near the bottom of the steps, she realized she had a powerful vision. It came from nowhere and was unconnected with any thoughts she was having at the time, or anything she was. Her throat and her nose felt like they had been wet in acid, the smoky air had burned like fire as it had passed into her lungs. It stuck for while, halfway to her gullet, like a lit match. She was slowly opened her eyes.
"Grace! Grace!" a dejected high pitched voice spoke. Lisa, Grace's aunt.

"She opened her eyes! Did you see?" A man with the bald head called Ben, her uncle.
They were smiling at her, her aunt and uncle smiling with sooty faces and frizzled hair.
"Thank God!" She cried breathlessly "Thank God!" For a tiny moment, realizing that why was she lying on the concrete in front of her house. She turned her head aside to look at the 5 bedroom house. The shocking sight of the house turned into ash and rubble. There were tear tracks running through the dirt on Grace's face. She held her aunt's hand tightly. Breathing heavily She felt hot tears wet the white sheets and by all the tears a little puddle was created.

The miserable cloud covered up the waxing moon which shadowed the white sheets on Grace's bed. It took a brief minute for the rain to patter against the window and made the out view wet. The sky was crying too. As tears rolled down her blue eyes followed the over worked nurse, who bobbed down to pick up the silver scissors that she had dropped. She shoveled her red hair onto the side and she spoke, "Your Aunt and Uncle are here to meet you."

Grace's perfect lined lips gave a disappointing smile because she knew what was going on.
'Click- Clack' a repeated sound was heard. A tall slender women who wore a beige coat and a dumpy Bald headed man walked into the room too. They both hugged her at the same time.
"Grace we have something to tell you" her aunt hesitated said as she glanced at Ben.
"I...I kind of know what happened." grace said down-hearted.

"Well your family died in that incident." Lisa said sorrowfully as she flung out the room. Ben ran out too. Grace's heart skipped a beat. Her throat felt dry and she felt as though pain had stabbed her in the back. Her mommy and daddy were gone. The blazing fire had burned her happiness, taking every toy, every photograph and every item of clothing. Her life was ruined!

Hopelessly, she was discharged by the doctors and she took baby steps out of the hospital. Ben and Lisa collected her out of the A&E department. She sat in the congested car and was driven too the semi-dethatched house that reminded Grace of dark chocolate because of the color of the bricks. She now knew that her life before was the end to her happiness. She realized that life was unfair and she's going to have to take care of herself because Ben and Lisa can't take care of her forever. Grace thought that these incidents happen in soap dramas. She was going to stand on her own two feet by going to school to fulfill her Mummy and Daddy's dream of her becoming a doctor.

Ten Years later- True to the forecast, the day was bright and warm. Grace and Ed sleep till eight o'clock and then she awoke him with eggs, bacon on toast, a mug of tea and piles of wedding gift. He smiled when he saw her sitting on the end of his bed. "Morning." he said cheerfully as he took the mug of tea from her and balanced the tray on his lap.
"Morning honey." She replied.

He pulled her to him and kissed her on the cheek. Then they opened their gifts. Grace held her breath as she saw an antique photo frame of her and her mummy on the beach that was taken by Gina. Grace also noticed a white envelope that was lying inside the gift box. She ripped the envelope astonishingly and then she read out:

'My Dearest, Most Meaningful daughter, I hope you are good. This letter is to say that where ever you are I love you so much. If you remember Gina who was my best friend like, you and Jacqui were best friends at the time. I told Gina to save this letter because she knew that I had cancer and I can die any day. I told her to send this letter to you on your wedding day. I never told your daddy anything because of his business going down the drain. I really wish I survive this cancer but I doubt I will. The doctors say that they'll give me something to ease the pain but what's the point. I wanted to see my beautiful girl on her wedding day. I wanted to die as a grandmother. But they say that we can't have all the things we want in this world. I think this pen is running out of ink. Sorry. I really love you and I know that you will miss me. GRACE YOU ARE ALWAYS GOING TO BE MY BABY GIRL. Be good. XxxX'

Grace sat for a moment, entirely motionless. The letter held in her hands, Ed sat next to her and wiped her tears. Ed kissed her on her forehead and said "I love you". The newly married couple sat and shed tears together.
