A Rose Within A Jar

The deep sorrow of loneliness can affect us all.
She hides away from the outside world,
A rose within a jar,
This image of a beauty bold
Who lives behind the glass,
For all to see but none to touch,
A modern freak of nature,
The pain she bears is way too much
As she stares towards the future.

A failed romance, a broken heart,
A longing to escape
The clarity of her misery,
From eyes that stare and rape
Her dignity of its value and it's worth,
With the ineffective tears
That mourn the loss of words,
To fall upon deaf ears.

She won't listen to your sympathy
But hopes you're entertained,
As you look through eyes of apathy
To wallow in her pain,
To you she's just a freak-show piece
From Piccadilly Circus,
Another sad eyed image
Of sorrow's long-suffering mistress.

So dry your tears and move along,
They're queuing up behind,
You know, you're not the only one
To share the tears she cries,
So gather up your thoughts of sin
To feel her deep remorse,
And fill your heart with the pain
Of living in a jar.
