A Quick Anti-Aging Cream Education for Consumers
If you find yourself in the market to buy an anti-aging cream for yourself or someone you love, you must read this article.
Anti-aging products are certainly in demand with the amount of baby boomers getting to the age where they really pay attention to their skin and body. With everyone scurrying to compete in a billion dollar industry, there are many things a consumer should know about marketing companies so they can make informed decisions when buying products.
Anti-aging wrinkle creams, for example, use many different sales methods to draw in the customer. Here are a few examples.
1. Free trial offer. Often times a free trial is offered. Sometimes shipping is required payment in many scenarios but not always. Usually there is a period of time the customer has to cancel the trial. If not, they will be auto-shipped more products and incur charges on their credit card. Watch out for these programs if you are entertaining a free trial offer. They are quite common in wrinkle creams.
2. Watch out for fake testimonials. I've seen several sites that have the same before-and-after pictures. Unless these companies are associated, which in many cases they are not, I warn against buying strictly on seeing photos. They are usually fake from my research.
3. Be careful of following the advice of a "dermatologist" quoted on the websites of these companies. I always call and ask for documented credentials of the dermatologist that is quoted. Any customer service rep can say "oh he went to Yale." But do you believe that garbage? Ask for documented proof when you research people.
4. Buy USA. Can you trust your delicate skin with products that were made outside the USA with little or no regulation or intervention from healthy bodies, like the FDA? I certainly can't, especially seeing that even Canada is careless in their watchdog-routine in health products. I'm sure you saw the news last week about the famous diet pill that was recalled after being linked to a death. Yep, you guessed it. Canadian-Made. Look for the "made in USA" sign on a website, then do your due diligence. Again, ask for proof. Just because you are buying from a US-company does not mean the product is manufactured there. Get to the bottom of this before buying.
5. Look for real ingredients that have clinical studies backing them up. If a company does not have one or two ingredients backed by clinicals, you are more inclined to buy a snake oil formula rather than a well-formulated product.
That is a wealth of information you can take into consideration as you buy an anti-aging product. Companies that check out will be here for the long term. Companies that do not are more in the business for a quick buck and most likely an operation run from a home. Do your own research and make an educated decision based on my advice. I've been at this a long time and have seen quite a bit of change in this industry. You can thank me later.
