A Place to Call Home
Most people dream of the day when they could have a house of their own. However, this process can be very adventurous.
All I want is a place to call home. A mansion or a cottage I will happily claim as my own. However, finding this place is challenging. Not because there is a lack of places to live but due to the depth you have to dip into your pockets to exchange for this home.
I wish I could say that I looking to buy because that would be a far fetch fantasy.
A loans officer will take one look at my earnings and offer me a tissue. With the inflation rate continuously rising and real estate has been crowned king. I have to look for a place to rent. When I think of all the money that I will be wasting I look up in the sky and shake my fits and shout no fair. But this is my reality.
Of course there is sleeping on the streets. Never tried but it could be an experience worth having.
Therefore the search has begun.
All I want is two bed rooms, kitchen, toilet &bath, living room and some where to hang out and laundry space. Oh yea and parking. For when I get my car.
The above place is available with the following stipulations:
- Couples only (I am not eligible).
- No pets or children (Not an issue for me, don’t have any at the moment but who knows.)
- Single women only ( I fit into this category but what if I want to be part of a couple does this mean I can’t live here any more?)
- Vegetarians only (This I can be but I like meat.)
- Christian single women or Christian couples (What if my partner is from another religion?)
- Professionals only (Who, doctors, lawyers or ladies of the nights?)
- Job letter needed (Do I hear discrimination?)
I will not be surprised if a prospective land lord indicates that they want proof that I am healthy and I am the gender that I portray. Of course they will have to pay to find out.
So tell me why a person has to go through all this drama has to find a place to live. For me the sad part is, as I look around the different areas where I currently live there are empty houses.
Houses! I tell you! Just sitting there and no one dwells in them. How can this be fair?
My suggestion is that all the empty houses in the county should come together and form their own www match.com and people like me and maybe you who are desperately seeking a home will have a chance to warm a lonely heart house.
Of course until that time comes my fingers will be walking through the papers. And my ears will be listening for some one to tell that they have that special place that I can call home.
