A New Perspective - Part 4
Hope you enjoy it:)
"So, let me guess, you're the singer of the band." I never got the chance to ask earlier; I was in shock too much to even think.
"Wow, how did you know?" Hayden stared at me with a puzzled look on his face.
"Lucky guess." I was lying. His alluring British accent, and low, harmonious voice would be put to waste if he was anything else.
"Ah, well it must have been my charming voice that gave it away." Hayden said as his crooked grin appeared onto his face. I felt my face redden. It was like he could read my mind.
"It was wasn't it?" Hayden's smile grew even more. He must have noticed my cheeks beaming a deep red, and my eyes averting his gaze. I looked up from the ground, and realized he had taken a few steps forward, causing him to be closer than expected. I smiled, and rolled my eyes at his attempt to get a compliment out of me.
"I'll take your silence as a yes." Hayden stood in front of me, grinning immensely. I didn't even realize how tall he was until now. I was looking up at him, and staring at his light, blue eyes. They were something else. I didn't even know a lot about Hayden, but honestly, I wanted to kiss him badly.
There was a knock on the door which echoed throughout the apartment. I stepped away from Hayden, not realized how close we had gotten. I walked to the door, and opened it. Brendon stood there, and smiled as I saw him.
"Someone's a bit flustered by my presence." Brendon said, gliding his hand across my cheek. "I guess you are not immune to my charm." His smile faded when his eyes shifted to Hayden.
"That explains why you weren't home." Brendon said with a tone of anger in his voice.
"I was helping Alex unpack." There was an odd tone to Hayden's voice also, almost like there was tension mounting between him and Brendon.
"We should get to the sound check, but I'll be seeing you later tonight." Brendon said with a wink. I smiled, he was quite the character.
Hayden walked up behind me, and glided his hand across my back. I felt my cheeks burn once again, and my whole body temperature raised by a degree. I looked at Hayden, and smiled.
"So that's your thing now? Claiming every girl your remotely attracted to even if you can't have them?" Brendon said harshly. I was completely lost. Hayden just stood there, and didn't say a thing. Silence filled the room, what the hell was going on?
"She doesn't know does she? Of course she doesn't, you're the charming Brit who swoons all the ladies." Brendon said with anger. I don't know what? "I'll gladly tell her. Hayden's one who puts a move on any female that crosses his path, even though he's not single." It didn't even cross my mind that he was taken. I should have known better, someone as attractive as him had to be taken.
I just stood there staring at Hayden, he looked very guilty. His cheeks were the color mine had been earlier. I didn't know what to say. As if I wasn't lost for words enough before, now I was completely speechless. It was one of the most awkward pauses in my life. Nothing was being said. Brendon finally broke the ice.
"We should get going, I'll see you tonight, if you're still coming." Brendon said to me, almost sounding guilty.
"Yeah." I barely got out. Hayden walked out the door, glancing back at me before I closed the door. He looked terrible. I wanted to say something, but what was I going to say?
