A New Leap of Faith Chpt. 6

Hey readers! Thank you for being so patient, I haven't had time to write and I've been working on this chapter for a while! I hope you enjoy it, even though it's lengthy..the story is just getting started! Much love, keep reading, and comment comment comment! Chapter 7 coming VERY soon.
The next few days were spent in awe. I couldn't go in my room without staring out of the small attic window, so I spent most on my time in the living room with my mom. She was still angry at me, she barley talked to me, except for when she needed something. Being grounded was something i really didn't like.

"Jona, get off your ass and go clean your room , it's dusty as hell" She was such a pain in the ass sometimes.
"Mom, I'm on a strike to not go in there, and you know that."
"Does it look like I care?"
Didn't look like I had a choice.

I really didn't want to go into my room. I had already memorized exactly what the frame around the window looked like. It was a dark auburn color and it looked so worn away. The lines in the wood represented pictures after pictures. This time, when I walked into the room, what I saw out of my window was beautiful. The snow was lightly falling and on the little roof that hung over the window, a brightly colored orange leaf drifted softly through the wind and eventually landed on the padded snow.
I was so caught up in the beauty that I didn't notice Jason walking to his front door! This was the first time I had seen him in weeks and I couldn't have been more ecstatic. I felt like running and hugging him but my conscience stopped me.
Had he forgotten about me?
Does he still know who I am?

*Ding*
I knew that sound, it was coming from my computer. I got up fast, too fast, because my leg had fallen asleep and the tingly feeling was taking over. Little to my surprise, I fell right back down.

"jason_m7645233457@bingo.net has added you to his friends list. Would you like to accept?"
WHAT? How did he get my e-mail? I guess Tamara gave it to him? WHO CARES?! Accept accept acceppppt!

Jason:
Hey Jona, how have you been?

Jona:
Hey! I've been good, and yourself?

Jason:
Um, I've been pretty busy, a lot of stuff going on with exams.... how come I havn't heard from you?

Jona:
I don't know? I never see you at home.

Jason:
Jona, you had my number written all over your arm...lol.

Jona:
Oh man, I know, but my mother has officially grounded me for another 5 days.

Jason:
Do you think you'll be able to sneak out tonight?

Jona:
Where am I sneaking to... haha?

Jason:
Promenade Mall? I know it's already closed but the movies are still open and it's a safe, quiet place to talk....

Jona:
Alright, I think I can make it :S

Jason:
Don't be scared I havn't seen you in a while and I miss your hugs :) I'll see you at 9?

Jona:
Sounds good.

*Jason has signed off*

I couldn't believe it. Should I ask him how he got my e-mail? And he misses me hugs?! How was I going to actually get out of the house? So many questions and I just noticed it was 8:30.

I left my hair up in a messy pony and was dressed in my lulu lemons, a pink tank top, and my new green floral sweater. I couldn't predict what was going to happen, or how it was going to play out but I knew I was extremely excited.

"Mom?" I had no idea where she was.
"Yes, Jona?"
"Christie asked me if I wanted to go with her to Shoppers 'cause she needs to get something for her mom and she doesn't want to go alone...."
I didn't know what she was going to say, and I felt like I had turned tomato red and started sweating buckets.
"Jona, it's 9:00pm and you have school tomorrow and I'm sure Christie can manage by herself."
"MOM, you've kept me in the house and I've obeyed my whole life, and I promised Christie I would make it!"
"Ugh, I'm not going to argue with you, just go. You have one hour."
YES! I had just figured out that my mom was extremely gullible, that might be useful.

I quickly put on my boots and headed out into the snow. It was gorgeous outside. It was pitch black and all I could see were street lights and lights from random people's bedrooms. The smell of honey, ginger, mint, and cinnamon filled the air and satisfied every part of me. I could tell it was Christmas season. The sound my boots made against the snow was soothing, relaxing, and I loved it. I could see carolers heading home and people settling in. It seemed like I was the only one outside, and that's how I liked it.

Before I knew it, I got to the mall and I craved so bad a ginger spice tea from Second Cup. I wonder if they're open in here still... I didn't have my cell phone so I was planning on bumping into Jason by chance. I headed to see if Second Cup was open and indeed, to my surprise, it was!

"One, medium, ginger apple tea please."
"Would you like sugar in that?"
"Yes, please."
"That'll be $4.96, please."

I felt someone getting closer and it made me feel really uncomfortable. I was about to turn around and yell when I saw whoever it was hand over a $5 bill to the lady.
"Jona, I've missed you"
It way Jason!
"Hey! It's so good to see you."
I hugged him and I felt like never letting go. He smelled like fresh shaving cream and winter air. His hands were cold and his checks were bright red.
"Jason, do you wanna buy a drink?
"No, I'm alright. Let's go sit down in my favorite area of the mall."

We walked two corridors down and found a quiet spot looking down on the whole mall with windows all around us exposing the beautiful winter sky.
"Wow, Jason, this is beautiful."
"Yeah, Erin showed me it a long time ago when he first started dating."
"Haha, so how have you been...your so close and I don't see you around much."
"Yeah, sorry Jony, I just have a lot to do and I'm barley ever home. So I'm glad I'm here with you now."
"I'm glad to be here too, I didn't think I would hear from you again."
"Haha, well you could always knock on the door!"

We spent a whole half an hour talking about everything and anything. Jason's eyes were so fixated on everything I was saying, I never felt more wanted. He even laughed every time I tried to be cute.

"Listen, Jona, I'd really like to as you something."
"Sure, go ahead."
He scooted closer to me and grabbed my waist from behind, this was the first time we had ever been this close...minus the hugging. I could feel myself get warm and tingly and I close my eyes.
"Jona, I'd really like to get to know you better and I'd really like to be able to see you more often, so I was just wondering.....would you like to be my girlfriend?"
Did I just hear what I thought I heard? He just asked me to be his girlfriend?!
"Wow, Jason, really?"
"Yes, it would be an honor to have a gorgeous gal like you."
"Jason, of course, my answer is yes!"
My first boyfriend! Ecstatic! Who was I going to tell first? Surely not my mother. MOTHER oh man, an hour has passed about an hour ago.
"Oh my God, Jason I was supposed to be home an hour ago! I have to go."
"Alright, but Jona, let me get a picture of you posing on the escalator, you look very pretty tonight."
"Thank you so much, boyfriend."

So, he took the picture. And when I got home, I was grounded for another 4 weeks because my mother had found out that Christie's mom didn't need anything. I couldn't wait to tell her about Jason though. But until she accepts that I have my first boyfriend, I won't be talking to him.
