A New Chapter

It's about freshmen...
This is one of those university towns….
Heard and called are various proper nouns.
It is an assimilation of multiple nations and culture.
Amazing is this international students community’s picture!
Sophomores and seniors are happy to be back.
New fresh faces are excited and blank.
Lost are these kids in hall, building and block…
Formalities are completed with the punctual precision of clock!
Most confusing are road maps and route charts..
Brochures, pamphlets and guides fill their carts.
Independence is quite ugly in close quarters?!
This face of freedom is most unfamiliar.
The kids start to miss the warmth of their homes.
They hate everything… of dorms.
Parents and their love kept them secured and protected.
This ‘home’ away from home is far from what they expected.
The ‘first’ new chapter of their life isn’t going to be easy.
They may forget to be lackadaisical, lethargic and lazy!!
Will this tough grind mash their confidence?
Or is it an initial fear of a new intelligent ambience?
These "freshies" are too strong willed to give in.
So what, if the conditions are not win-win ??!!
