A little girl named Sarah

A poem about child abuse...
A little child named Sarah.
No younger than the age of three.
Got abused by her father day and night.
But not a soul could see.

He would hit her and throw her.
Until she would cry and scream.
When she wakes up the next morning.
She realizes that it's no dream.

At school they ask her questions.
But she tells them she's just fine.
When she gets home she gets hit again.
Her father is way out of line.

When she finally tells someone.
She is taken by the state.
They saved her not a minute too soon.
Not a second too late.

Now she lives a happy life.
But still has hurtful marks.
She's not scared, she's totally different.
She's a child that's full of heart.
