A Life's Dream - Prologue

She came with her family 9 years ago, to her dream city; Sydney. At first it was hard, but now she feels as if she's always lived here. She's the most popular girl at school and has everything anyone could ever wish for. Except one thing. A dream that she still needs to fulfill...
A strange feeling swept inside me as I stepped outside Kingsford Smith Airport, Sydney, Australia.

Wow, I still couldn't believe it. Australia!

The sun over us was hot, and the sky a cloudless baby blue. A new morning, a new country and a new start. It was as if a new life was awaiting us. And surely it was...

So much has happened till that 14th of January, 9 years ago. My family and I had just come from India with only 4 suitcases, $150 Australian Dollars and a dream to start a new life. We knew that the road ahead was going to be tough, but we knew if we all stuck together, we could accomplish anything. I was really young at the time, merely 7. An age, when most girls would want to sit in their dollhouse and play tea-party or dress-ups with their best friends. But I wasn't like those girls.

Everyone says that I matured at a very young age. But I would just say that I only became wise at a very young age. My journey started off as a year 2 student, who didn't even know how to speak a single word of English. Whose first day at school was like as if she had been pulled out of a bag of marbles and placed in a bag full of ping-pong balls. Two completely different things in appearance and each with a different purpose. But I held on. Because I knew that this was my new home now and that there was no turning back.

And here I am now. Nine years later. Arohi Sharma. A 17 years old, year 12 student, living with the biggest dream of my life... I'll tell you about that a bit later. But this is my story...

Hey guys! This a new story that I've started working on. So obviously I'll need your support to continue it. I know it's quite short, but I promise to make my chapters long. Comments will be appreciated. Thanks.
