A Goddess's Fate - Prologue

Alexa was always a normal girl until she picked up a mysterious bow and arrows. Now a full-fledged goddess, Alexa must learn to control her new powers. That's not easy when you have Apollo, God of music and the sun as your teacher. Evil beings threaten the existence of the twelve gods and Alexa will know that being a goddess isn't always sweet.
She ran.

She ran as fast as she could but knew her pursuers weren’t far behind. Her dogs and the animals in the forest tried to help her but she knew it was no use. She would die, it was her fate. Three thousand years of living never prepared her for her own death. She saw a house nearby and noticed a girl with curly brown hair and chocolate-brown eyes smiling. Her dogs started barking and the girl came out of the house and looked around.

She knew what she had to do now, for the fate of her brother and her sisters. Suddenly a huge hole appeared in her chest and pain shot through her entire body. She fell to the ground and saw her pursuers were coming closer and closer. She didn’t have any more time left, it was now or never. She grabbed her bow and arrows and transported them to the girl and the girl picked them up. If only she knew what she was picking up.

She’s heard one of her sisters describe what it felt like but she didn’t know if felt this painful and this good at the same time. She watched as her life force went into the girl, along with her powers. When it was finished the girl in her eyes glowed slightly white and she smiled. Her pursuers were just above her and she smiled at them.

"You’re too late," was the last thing she said before she died and her body went to the Garden of Reincarnation.
