A Florence Affair

April Wendice, the shy-quiet listener in her final year at Bayridge campus, she decides to go on her senior trip to Florence, Italy. Where she meets the confident, handsome young man Alexander Troy, but just one thing why is he even bothering with her? Read, comment and Enjoy <3!!!
She wasn't ready. For she knew she wasn't but her older sister Elizabeth had told her to go.

"Go! Enjoy yourself! You'll only live to be 17 once, this will be your only senior trip," Elizabeth would say to her and She would roll her eyes "It's not everyday you'll get to see Florence..." Elizabeth would then mutter. Florence as in Florence, Italy. For there senior trip they would be going to Florence, Graduating there, living there... for the month of May. Now, at first she didn't want to go, she thought what was she going to see there? Florence meant and still does mean nothing to her, but it was her sister's fault she was on this airplane, heading to Florence, Italy, with the rest of her classmates.

"April? April Wendice?"

She looked up at the calling of her name "Present," She muttered loud enough for Mrs. Davidson to hear. She looked back out the airplane window absently as she sat alone in the corner at the back of the aisle. As other kids played and laughed and gossiped. April Wendice sat there alone.

"So, what are you gonna do Ronnie? Mickey'll be expecting the money by tomorrow night! It's a kill, kill!" Nathan buzzed in his ear and Ronnie pushed him away irritated.

"Ronnie, you don't have that money tomorrow night, Nate's right, there's no way you can escape!" Jaden agrees and Nathan nods.

"How am I gonna get $1000 to Mickey by tomorrow night?" Ronnie muttered to himself.

Ronnie and his Boys were sitting on the steps to their high school, school was finally out and everybody was coming outside.

"Hey, guys! You heard? Alex came to school today." Tommy slides down the rail of the stairs.

"Alex?" Ronnie looks up. Alexander Troy was Ronnie's best friend, the richest guy in the school, because his father owned the famous 'Cathedral' merchandise business one day Alexander will own. Alexander rarely came to school, he was never much interested- since he knew what he was going to do for a living- school was a bore to him, everything was. He rarely did anything, rarely hung out with people, talked to people; he mostly kept to himself-despite him and Ronnie being the best of friends.

Suddenly Ronnie hatched an idea.

"Boys, I figured out how we're gonna pay Mickey off," Ronnie got up and hugged Nathan and Jaden.

"We're?" Nathan shrugged him off.

"Yeah! You're in this mess you get out of it!" Tommy told him off.

"Go away Tommy," Ronnie said to him and Tommy eyed him then strutted off.

"I'm gonna make Alex a bet he can't refuse. Alex loves to Gamble!" Ronnie says to them eagerly.

"How much?" Curiously Jaden asked.

"1000 Bucks,"

"What?! That's gonna be Mickey's money-"

"Quiet! What Alex Don't know won't hurt him, now I'm gonna talk to Alex about the bet, something hard...something I'm sure, he'll never win," Ronnie frowns uncertainly and looks down.

"When?" Jaden asked.

"Tonight," Ronnie says.

The streets filled with all these peculiar things, the Italian music played, things were being sold and protested and presented.

It was exciting.

It was probably 4'oclock the next day and they had finally arrived in Rinaldi, Florence and Mrs. Davidson's class was walking in two lines to their new Abandoned long time ago Mansion, where the class would stay for a month. April was all the way in the back, trailing behind the class as she looked at all the people talking funny in there language. The music was playing and people were donating money into a guitar case for the player, this was quite a busy street, but April Grinned.

When they got there it did seem like a spooky mansion as Mrs. Davidson ordered the class to wait outside on the front porch of the seemingly cold eerie mansion. Some sat on the benches and some stood up, but all eyes were on the mansion as people in their minds picked there rooms and who they were going to stay with.

"Now, I am going to be assigning you to what room you are going to have and whether or not you can have who you want to bunk with, you have to ask me first!" She hollered as everybody excitedly ran inside and April followed.

April had got the last of the last rooms. As other people got Balconies and trapped doors inside there rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floor. She got the tiny and only room for herself on the 1st floor. Again, Mrs. Davidson made them sat in the beautiful Gothic Parlor. Everything in this mansion was striking, from the Victorian structures to the Gothic Architecture and many surprising rooms. This house was old but, fine-looking.

"Now, be sure your at the table for breakfast by no more than 7am!-" Some groans as Mrs. Davidson kept on "We have a busy day for us, we'll be touring the monuments and museums of Florence, this'll be one busy month for us," Mrs. Davidson says to us "Now go on back to bed, first stop on the tour tomorrow will be 'the cathedral', famous place it is. You'll be learning the history of it,"

As the students walked up the stairs to their rooms, April Turned around and headed back to the small room. That contained a bed, a shelf, and window of the front porch.

April wasn't ready to go to sleep although everybody was exhausted from the 2-day trip and was probably in bed by now, she didn't want to see all the monuments or museums of Florence, Italy. She wanted to find the Romance of Italy and was tired of being lonely and having no friends, that's one of the reasons she came to Italy, not for this to be some educational trip again. She wanted excitement and she was gonna get it.

She tip-toed across the room quietly closed the door and turned of the lights, then she opened the window even more and a chill ran up her arms. She quickly grabbed her sweater of the bed and climbed out. She hurried down the patterned concrete ground and pulled open the squeaky gate and was out of the mansion.

And free to Rome Florence.

Ronnie checked his watched one last time, to see that it was 8:30PM and Alex still wasn't here.

"Damn," He muttered, he was thinking since he owed money to Mickey tomorrow, he'll try and persuade for the day after tomorrow. After all there couldn't be any rush in matters that dealt with Alexander Troy. Then he came down the stairs to there usual meeting place, the café.

"Where have you been?" Ronnie asked him and slapped his neck, half-relieved to see him.

"My papa needed my help," Alex muttered "What do you want Ronnie?"

"Oh, so it's like that? You didn't even come by and see me today," Ronnie played with him and Alexander eyed him warily.

"So, what's up?" Ronnie casually said and Alexander only eyed him annoyed.

"Gamble much?" Ronnie tried again.

Alexander eased up "I'm at the top of my game, Ronnie, nothing's been beating me,"

"Really? I've been doing well to, alotta' money's been coming in for me," Ronnie lied easily and then nervously glanced at Alex who seemed interested.

"We haven't bet in a while me and you," Ronnie said to him.

"Is that a challenge I hear?" Alexander asked him.

"Yeah, winner a $1000," Ronnie told him.

"Oh, so now you're betting high now?" Alexander said and laughed as they shook hands "What's the bet?"

"I bet, that you can't take the girl I pick all around Florence tomorrow and be back by 9:00 sharp on the dot here, at the cafe,"

"Florence?"

"Yeah, I have a list, you have to take her to all these places, tomorrow and she herself has to say so," Ronnie told him as Alexander looked the page full of places up and down.

"Oh, so that's what's you've been up to, but no thanks, deals off," Alexander declined.

"What? You shook on it?!" Ronnie told him upset.

"Why does it matter to you anyway?" Alexander muttered to him and Ronnie seemed off-guard.

"I-I- Look, you shook on it and you can't just back down on it!" Ronnie told him.

Alexander thought about it for a while as Ronnie crossed his fingers under the table.

"Who's the girl?" Alexander muttered.

Ronnie eagerly sat up and pointed, then turned around, spinning and picked on a random girl.

Alexander laughed out loud then "This is going to be easy!" The girl he had picked seemed to be his age or even a year younger. She sat across the street looking up at a famous painting, her back to him.

"Don't wait up," Alexander muttered and patted Ronnie's back as he ran across the street.

April Wendice sat there, looking up at the famous 'Mona Lisa' painting that was created by Leonardo da Vinci and admired it very much, she was thinking about buying one herself, once they visited the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum later on during the week.

"Nice isn't it?" Alexander came up to the mysterious girl and said.

April looked up "...Yes,"

It was a man, probably a year older than her who was very Handsome, April couldn't look away. He had full, warm dark brown eyes with dark-brown hair that was neatly combed. He was a lanky tall man, probably in business.

"Sorry," He gave her a charming smile "Alexander," He shook her hand "So, you like Leonardo Da Vinci? You have nice taste, is this your favorite painting?"

"Not really, it's Wonderful though," April looked up at the man he claimed to be as Alexander, said.

"Then what is?"

"...I don't really have a favorite painting, but I'm really into Claude Monet and Van Gogh," She told him truthfully and he smiled and her heart raced. He had a wonderful smile.

"Do you like to paint?" He asked her.

"Not really, no...I suck at it," She muttered and looked down and he laughed at that as she blushed a crimson color.

"You live around here?" He asked her then.

"No, I'm on a trip here, but uh, I'm American," She said to him sheepishly, but for some reason she couldn't help, but notice he himself did not look Italian.

"Really? Why?"

"Senior trip," She said to him.

"Well, I'm American, too, this is my first year spending time with my father here in Italy... I usually live with my mother and sister back in America," He explained and she nodded, she stepped down from the stool she sat on and was about to leave when he blocked her path.

"Where you going?" He asked her.

"Home,"

"I don't' mean to be straight-forward, but I'd like to get to know you even better, would you care to spend the day with me tomorrow?" He asked her looking into her dark brown confused eyes.

"I'm busy-"

"Aren't we all?" He took her hand in his and April could hear her heart drumming loudly in her ears as she stared into his eyes "Will you?" He said when she said nothing and she shook her head and pulled away.

"Where are you going?" He called as she ran down the busy block that lighted up.

"I have to go home or I'll get in trouble!" She called to him and turned and ran off.

He didn't even know her name.
