Right now the sun is beaming through the window of my holiday villa in Paphos. Cyprus is basking in glorious sunshine and it is wonderful. We occasionally do have a few "spots" of rain but for the most we have around 330 days of sunshine per year. I came over on a flight to Paphos in Cyprus and it only took me 4.5 hours from London, now that’s what I call a short trip and it was also a bargain. Paphos is located on the western side of the island and is split into two, known as Kitma Paphos and Kato Paphos. (Upper and lower). The lower part, on the coast, contains most of the historical sites whereas the upper town contains the main shopping center and modern museums. It is quite a strenuous walk from the lower to the upper part of Paphos as it is a steep hill that separates them. The harbour is the main focus of the town and it is quite pleasant strolling along on a balmy summers evening. There are plenty of cafes and bars where you can relax and watch the boats.

If you catch an early flight to Paphos, Cyprus will be waiting for you in the evening to explore her as you will still have plenty of the day left when you arrive. A bargain to say the least.

If you plan to be living in Cyprus you will never be bored as there is so much to see and do in Paphos and the surrounding areas. You are only a short drive from the mountains where you will find it a few degrees cooler in the summer months, a welcome change from the stifling heat on the coast. You will see many wonderful plants in the mountains and if you are lucky you may even spot some of the rare plants growing. There are many picnic areas so why not take a picnic and enjoy the tranquility of the area. More often than not you will be alone to enjoy the clean air and the sound of the breeze gently blowing. With a flight to Paphos Cyprus being so cheap you will be able to see plenty of your loved ones, the only problem you may have is keeping them away!!
