Korean LG has announced a delightfully surprising new handset in the LG GD510 Pop. Who says LG can’t keep a product secret? It’s Green and Go

There are not that many mobile phones using solar powered batteries, though other devices do harness the sun for most of their battery needs. The LG Pop is one of the few that do. A Fashion Sense

LG claims the Pop to be the most compact of all 3-inch touchscreen mobile phones. And it looks it as the Pop sports the narrowest bezel around the screen that we’ve seen. This allows for a narrower and smaller body. With 11.2mm thickness, this is the most pocketable 3" touchscreen alright. Its brushed aluminum body gives it a classy elegance that should delight the fashion crowds as well.

Features to Go

The LG GD510 Pop is a quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE with 3G HSDPA/HSUPA for high speed internet connection. There’s no WiFi but you get Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and A2DP for wireless stereo headsets. You get the usual media players with support for just about all the popular codec out there. Then there’s FM radio and a generous 8GB of internal memory and microSD expansion slot for up to 16 GB. It won’t be complete with out imaging which gets a 3.15 megapixel camera with autofocus.

All in all a great option on your shopping list this Christmas. LG is making it ready to hit the market by late October or early November at a friendly price it hopes will attract the market that has given its LG Cookie a resounding success.
