"Can you please leave me?" I asked for the fiftieth time, "I need to change my clothes."
Aaron remained immobile.
"Just go," I cried, "what do you think will happen to me? I promise I will try my hardest not to evaporate into thin air," I said sarcastically.
He only glared at me, "I don’t know why Lord Asmodeus haven’t killed you yet," he snarled, "You are the world’s most insolent idiot…"
"Just leave," I said exasperatedly, "or should I tell Lord Asmodeus that you are peeking at a human slave when she’s changing? He’ll get a good laugh out of that."
His eyes were suddenly grim. He grimaced while I gave myself a mental pat on the back. Without a backward glance he left me alone.
Finally, a moment of peace…I grinned to myself.
Like a lazy cat, I blinked tiredly and stretched out my limbs luxuriously in my blanket. Ah…I love peace and quiet…
Suddenly, the door burst open. I sat upright, feeling slightly annoyed and preparing myself to command Aaron to get out once again, but it was Emma who had burst through my door.
I looked at her in alarm.
"What—"
She made a frantic motion with her hands, but she couldn’t speak. She doesn’t even seem to be able to catch her breath.
"I have—seen—the most—terrible thing—"
"What?"
"—Laurence—"
Laurence! What about him? What about him?
Oh no! Oh no! Don’t let anything happen to him. Not him. Not my angel…
"What happened?" I demanded, shaking an exhausted Emma like crazy, "What happened? Tell me! Tell me!" I yelled.
"He’s…he’s here!"
"Where?" I demanded, not wanting to believe in my own suspicions.
"In hell! —Of course!" she choked out.
"What?"
I stood up so fast that I nearly set the dresser flying across the room.
How…how…
But…
There’s no way, there’s no way!
He can’t be here! There is no way…He can’t!
"Calm down…" I whispered, my voice shaking. I didn’t know if I was speaking to myself or to Emma, "Emma, are you not feeling well?"
"—I’m fine," she whispered and panted at the same time, still trying to catch her breath, "but he’s not…When I was walking down…No one knew I was there…I saw…He was there…in chains…"
"You are lying…it can’t be true…you are lying," I gasped. I’m completely incoherent. I can’t think.
She shook her head and looked at me with her sad gray eyes.
"No—"
I fell so faint…I can’t breath…I can’t breath…
Emma caught me before I collapsed on the floor.
"I have to go to him. I have to!"
"Calm down…"
"No, you have to tell me…you have to tell me where to find him!" I cried.
"I don’t know where she took him—"
"No matter," I cried. My heart is skipping so fast. I can’t breath, "I…I…I’ll find him…" I whispered.
"No Talia—"
She tried to hold onto me, but I was too strong for her. I broke away from her clasp and ran out of the room.
I don’t know how fast I ran. I don’t know how far I ran. I didn’t even know where I was running to. I just ran.
No. Not my Laurence. Not him. Not my guardian angel.
I ran.
I kept on running.
I don’t know what to do. I don’t know... But I was running. I have to find him. I have to find him!
Laurence, my love…I have to—
But where am I running?
Then suddenly, someone laughed. That laugh was so familiar. It made the hair on my arms stand up. Lady Lucifer.
She laughed some more. Her beautiful silvery voice was somewhat demented today. It was icier and crueler. Her eyes had a wild look in them, as if she has gone completely mad…
"Welcome my dear Talia," her malicious grin grew, revealing her pointed, sparkling canine, "You are just in time."
[Eric]
"Aaron!" I yelled. I could barely contain my anger at this moment, "what happened to Talia? Why isn’t she in her room?"
He backed against the wall, as I advanced slowly toward him, his eyes swimming with utmost terror.
"Did I not tell you specifically to stay with her at all time?"
"Yes but—"
"Don’t give me any damned excuses…" I hissed, "If I find a single hair on her head misplaced…I will have you thrown in the fire pits…now go and find her!"
He scrambled away as fast as he could without a single backward glance.
If anything happened to her again…I will never forgive him…and I will never forgive myself.
[Talia]
"What do you think you are doing? Where is Laurence? What have you done with him? Tell me!" I demanded, as Lady Lucifer dragged me into an unfamiliar room.
She acted as if she had not heard anything.
"Where is he?"
More silence followed.
It’s useless to ask. This madwoman obviously enjoys my pain. She would not tell me as long as I ask.
There were tall pillars everywhere…even though there’s so much space, I still feel suffocated and confined. Where am I exactly?
She seems to have read my thought, "This here is the throne room of the Queen of Hell," she led me to the end of the hall, and sure enough, there was a tall golden throne, "only a pure blooded vampire has ever sat on this throne…How fitting that you shall suffer your greatest torment here, both bodily and spiritually, before you could ever become Queen…"
"I think you are mistaken," I said, making great effort to keep my voice steady and strong, "I don’t have any intentions of becoming Queen…"
"Don’t you think I know that?" She whispered, "It is your master who wants you to become Queen all along. I can tell by your weak nature and soft heart," she said that with the greatest disgust, "you can never become a true queen."
"Then why don’t you take it up with him," I demanded.
"Oh I am," she laughed maniacally, "you have no idea how much pain this will inflict on him…"
"What are you talking about?" I demanded, thoroughly confused.
"You will see, my dear," her eyes gleamed with mad glee, "you shall see very soon. After you see your precious Laurence…I want you to experience the most glorious joy before plunging into the most abysmal despair…"
Her voice was full of pure malice and its hysterical note bordered insanity. I shuddered.
Laurence…what will she do to him? I—I don’t want to lose him. I’d rather have her whip me day and night, burn me in the fire pits for all eternity than have her bring him here and serve as a tool to torture me…how cruel could this woman be?
Her smile grew, and she snapped her fingers.
"Bring him in," she said.
Clad in chains and looking more handsome than ever stood my Laurence.
I’m sorry for those of you who didn’t want to see Laurence in Hell. I couldn’t help myself but putting him into the story to add a little more drama and make this story a bit better because I always write about him, but you guys never actually get to meet him and judge him yourself. See how he treats Talia and compare it to how Eric treats Talia and you will be able to decide whom you like better. But I promise that you guys will like the ending!
AS ALWAYS, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT!
