A Dream Most Grimm - Chapter 12

Inspired by the books 'Brothers Grimm Fairytales' and 'A Tale Dark & Grimm', this is a wicked twist to Sleeping Beauty.
Suddenly Bria had an idea. Why not give the clown what he wants? Why fight something that could so easily be done when not obeying would result in her death? It was worth a shot. Bria opened her eyes and stared into the eyes of the clown... and smiled. It was a fake smile. One she could barely keep on her face as her body was shaken by fear, but it seemed to work. The clown's eyes softened and slowly a genuine smile spread across his face. Then he, and the children, were gone.

As Bria fell to the ground she let out a shaky sigh of relief and covered her face with her hands.
After Bria had calmed down she was tired for she had been crying for quite some time. She was so tempted to lay her head on the ground and go to sleep. But she didn't for she knew that it wasn't safe, at least not here.

Right in the middle of the forest he was walking in was what looked to be an abandoned school. But this wasn't the thing that had caught his attention, for he had seen far stranger things in this scape. What made him stop and stare was the fact that the forest he had been walking in was full of color but that particular part of scenery was in gray. Yes, the school, the long path that led up to it, and even the long grass that was growing around the path was completely gray.

"The next level..." The boy whispered to himself.
Slowly he placed a foot on the path. Suddenly the scenery around him shifted. Now the whole forest was completely gray, the temperature had dropped sharply, and snow covered the ground.
The boy shivered but continued to walk forward. Soon he reached the doors of the abandoned school. They were gray and flaking. He raised his hands to touch them. At the slightest touch, the doors cracked beneath his palms and crumbled to the ground. The boy stepped inside...
