A Dirty Game - Chapter 3
Hey comment =]
~*~*~*~*~*~*
Lunchtime came and Ruby was amused at the amount of people tried to find out where she was going to sit. She pointed them all to the same table that Romeo was sitting at, and they swarmed over there. As she had expected, Romeo had got up and left, taking his tray with him. And she followed him.
He went outside, passed a few groups, then crossed some grass and sat under a big tree. Stifling a smile, Ruby crossed so that she was on the other side from him and then made her way to the tree. She pretended that she didn't know he was there, dumping her bag down quite loudly. Then she let out a huff and stretched her long legs out, kicking off her dolly shoes and letting the warm air play with her feet.
Her tray consisted of some fries, a slice of pizza and a salad. She was high maintenance yeah, but she also really liked food. That's what gyms were for. Slowly she pulled her phone out of her bag, then casually let it slip out of her fingers. It landed on the other side of the tree. She swore then slowly started to get up. A hand shot out in front of her face, holding her phone. She looked up and saw Romeo. She smiled and took it.
"Thanks"
"It's alright" he nodded.
"Were you behind the tree?" she asked.
"Yeah" he chuckled.
"Oh, cool".
She couldn't believe her luck when he sat down next to her.
"So, what school did you go to before this one?"
"Oh, some private school. I hated it" she grimaced truthfully.
"Oh. Why did you come here?" he frowned.
"My mum. And um...i heard there were some pretty nice boys here" she added. He laughed.
"Oh, you're one of those girls" he said.
"What?"
"Those girls, the ones who only care about looks and money. The kind with no morals" he said.
Ruby backtracked.
"Oh, no! I just meant, the boys I got involved with back then, let's just say, they aren't very good people" the lies rolled off her tongue easily. He glanced at her and then nodded.
"Sorry"
"It's fine"
They sat in silence for a while. Ruby ate some of her lunch and Romeo eyed it hungrily. She noticed and stopped chewing.
"Hungry?" she teased.
"Yeah, I didn't get much except for a drink but I'm actually feeling the consequences now" he smiled a little. Ruby laughed.
"Here, open wide" she mocked and held a fry up. He raised an eyebrow but opened his mouth a little. Slowly Ruby slid it in. He winked and chewed it. Ruby mentally patted herself on the back. That was so smooth. But then Romeo checked his watch and jumped up.
"Shit! Gotta ring someone sorry" he rushed out, grabbed her fries with a cheeky smile and walked off. Satisfied, Ruby lay back against the trunk. At least now he didn't think she was someone to avoid. Her happy time was interrupted by an annoying voice she recognized immediately.
"Bitch", sighing she opened her eyes. Rachel was standing over her, glaring.
"Hello Rach" she smiled. Rachel narrowed her eyes.
"You have some nerve" she hissed.
"Really?"
"Yes! After what you did last year!" her voice wobbled a little. Ruby grinned. Even though Ruby and Rachel were the same age, they were so different. And that sparked a lot of jealously because Ruby was the better version. She was sexier, cleverer, more out-going...more liked. But she was also more conniving, more heartless. Like last year when she had been invited by her aunt on holiday to Greece. Rachel had found a little 'holiday romance' and Ruby had decided it wouldn't work out. So she stole Alexandros. And Rachel had found out, because not only was Alexandros two-timing her, but he was also thinking of dumping her. And he had...for Ruby. As you can imagine, Rachel went mad.
"But really Rach," Ruby sighed "you do so love to over-exaggerate things!". Rachel's eyes bulged and she lunged forward, ready to scratch her cousin's eyes out, but was held back by Romeo.
"God. Girls" he muttered. Rachel, bizarrely, growled at him and then stalked off. He turned to Ruby, astonished. Ruby shrugged and then laughed.
"I just wanted to say thanks for the chips. Bye"
"Bye" she grinned and watched him walk off. He really had a lovely shaped arse, she thought. Then she stood up, slipped her shoes on, and made for the lunch hall. She needed someone to gossip to.
