A Different Life 6

Devin and James walks into the living room where me and Christa had moved to. Devin had on torn up jeans and a black fit shirt. Gosh! I felt my heart rate speed up. It seemed so loud that I am positive that everyone else can hear it too. Why did he have to look so good? He sat on the couch right beside me. Hmm…he smelled good too. I felt my lips curve into a big broad smile.
"Hey Devin, you know James, how?" I asked
"Oh, my dad is in the army and see we move all over the place and last year we moved to Australia where James lives right now. James had gotten assigned to show me around the school like a guide and we just hit it off, so to speak." Devin explained.
Just then James appeared from the sodas. He threw one to each of us. Devin caught his in mid-air and then smiled saying "you remembered man."
"Duh" James smirked.
"So D (what James calls Devin) how have you been?"
"Oh I’ve been good, hanging in, how about you?"
"Same" James sipped his Coke.
"So Devin, how many places have you lived in?" Christa asked.
"Way too many to say, but I have been in Hon Kong, Tokyo, London, Brazil, just to name a few" He stated simply.
"Nice" Christa said.

After a while of talking and laughing at some of the things Devin and James had done when Devin had lived in Australia, we decided to play truth or dare.
"Who wants to go first" Christa asked.
"I’ll bite" Devin offered bravely.
"Ok Devin Tr—"
"No wait, wait, I want to do this one" James said interrupting Christa.
"Fine whatever" Christa shrugged.
"OK… Devin Truth or Dare" James asked smirking.
"Truth"
"Wimp" James laughed.
"I’m not a wimp it’s just that I know you make people do crazy stuff I know from experience" Devin laughed.
"Ha-ha, yeah like when I dared you to go and tell Je—"
"No need to tell everyone" Devin stopped James in a hurry.
"Okay man…anyways, Devin is it true that you smacked Ms. Biscotti’s butt last year"
"Eww, you did that"? asked Christa disgusted.
"That is totally gross" I faked gagged.
"Okay I was a little stupid last year, but yeah it’s true that I smacked the English substitute’s butt last year".
"That is totally gag worthy" Christa faked gagged like me.
"Why?" I asked.
"Why, I’ll tell you why he did it because she had it going on, I mean she looked REALLY good!!!!" James answered for Devin. Devin gave James pounds showing him he was right.

I turned and raised my eyebrows at James and so did Christa. He stopped smiling and shrugged saying "Not that I was looking or anything".
"Yeah right you liar" I pushed him playfully.
"Ok ok, my turn" Christa shushed us all.
She thought about it for a minute and then her eyes got this evil look in it. Whatever she was planning it must be good. But I wonder who her target was.
"James, truth or dare" Christa asked mischievously. I let out the air I finally realized I had been holding, in relief. I am so happy her target wasn’t me.
"Dare" said James bravely. Obviously James was a brave person because if it had been me in his position I would have said Truth.

"Ok James, I dare you…to kiss AA". James eyes widened at the exact same time mine did. He glared at her. She just smiled happily. Wow he must really not want to kiss me. He seemed kind of PO’ed but then he just shrugged. "No problem".

He stood up grabbed my hand and started to walk out room. Yes! At least Christa and Devin wouldn’t see us kiss. UGH! Why didn’t she dare Devin to kiss me!?

Just then Christa said "No, you don’t get to leave you have to do it in front of us".
Wait did she just say what U think she did? Please tell me I heard wrong. I felt my heart drop even lower.
James growled in anger I was surprised he wasn’t tearing the whole house apart. Did it repulse him that much to kiss me? Ouch. Just go ahead and hurt people’s feelings.
James yanked me around. "Ouch!" I yelled now he was ticking me off. I yanked my hand away he turned around in surprise. "What?" he asked.
"I don’t need you pulling me around like a puppy dog thank you" I rolled my eyes.
"Whatever" he said sitting on the couch.
He leaned in to kiss me just when Christa said "No lip pecking either a nice good one".
Devin started laughing saying "This is something that should be in a comedy movie."
Was he really enjoying this that much?
James rolled him eyes and leaned in really fast like he was ready for it to be over. Well news flash mister you aren’t the only one.
His lips felt good, really good. They moved really softly against mine. Nothing deep or anything. Pressed his lips against mine and I felt a shiver run through me. My hands left my sides and touched his leg, but I quickly removed them. I hope nobody saw that. Then he pulled away, my eyes popped open, James cleared his throat and sat down on the floor.
Wow. THAT. FELT. REALLY. GOOD!!! My body was screaming inside of me. James was a good kisser. I can’t believe he kissed me even though it was a dare still, I can’t believe how much I enjoyed it.
