A Deadly Game (3)

A run for her life. Please write a comment...
The figure had long nails and an eerie mist hung around it. She couldn’t see its face, which made it even creepier.

The air got colder, she could feel her lips going blue. The creatures had wings. It was snow white. Its sharp teeth over lapped its lip.

The figure raised a bony finger in Katy’s direction.

Rosa screamed.

Katy’s eyes went wide.

"Go! Katy run!" Rosa yelled.

Katy knew she shouldn’t have left Rosa there, but it looked like she didn’t have a choice, Rosa was too weak to carry on.

Katy ran. The figure screeched and glided towards Katy. She turned corners and ran outside. She turned to the main courtyard and didn’t stop.

She went pass the classrooms hoping she would find a teacher in it. She opened one of the classrooms and locked the door behind her.

She scrambled under the teacher’s desk and lay still.

She heard a big bang, probably the door being ripped off its hinges. She put a hand to cover her mouth. She could hear its light footsteps. It stopped. She closed her eyes and prayed. She felt a gust of wind.

She wondered if it had left. She looked under the desk. It was right in front of it. Her breathing quickened. Before she knew it, the desk was lifted up and thrown against the wall.

Katy screamed and scrambled towards the door. She ran and took a scared look behind her, but the creatures were gone. So was the hooded figure. She took a few steps back and banged right into it.

She fell to the ground. It was ice cold outside. She scurried backwards on her hands and feet. The figure raised its hand, Katy saw the long sharp finger nails. It stroke. Katy screamed and put her hand over her face. Fleeting pain went across her arm as four deep gashes were seen through her jumper.

She scrambled up and ran. The figure made no advance to her. She raced outside to the main courtyard. From up above, the two winged creatures came swooping down and started attacking Katy pecking at her with it’s sharp teeth. Scrapes and blood covered her.

She grabbed a near by branch, that was thick and long enough to fend them off. She swung at the creatures.

"Get… The hell…. Away …from me.."
She was successful. The creatures lay on the floor, battered with blood. It hissed at her. Katy continued running. She went into the library. But then a big gust of wind blasted her into the desk, with a pile of books landing on top of her.

Katy lay motionless, she was too weak to carry on. She moaned at the pain she felt through her whole body. But little did she know that the wooden box lay on the ground in front of her.

Opened. The hooded figure prepared to give the final death blow but as it advanced to her, it screeched. Katy opened her eyes.

It screeched again. It was being sucked into the wooden box.

‘You will need to trap them inside the box,’ the words rang in her mind.

It gave a final screech before it got suck into the box. The box closed, it shook vigorously. Then was still. Struggling, Katy went over to the box.

She was hurt everywhere and was covered in blood. Hands, trembling, she opened the box. Inside of it was a tiny serpent, it was withering as if it were in pain. Encoded on it’s skin was the word AIR.

The serpent hissed and withered some more before, it turned to ash. Being cautious, she spread the ash and it revealed a small, burnt parchment. It had two letters on it.

GA.

Katy sobbed, before darkness overwhelmed her…..
