A Dark Temtation (3)
A Proposal? Joking or Dead serious? Please answer my poll!!!
A new day had arrived and Cassandra walked up the steps to school. The school's gossip buzzed about the new student, what was so great about him? Tanya skipped towards her, "So have you heard about our latest new comer?" she gushed.
"Yes I have in fact, it's quite hard to miss it when everyone's talking about him," Cassandra replied.
"What's your problem, don't you think he's hot?"
"He has," Cassandra thought for a moment, "certain classical good looks, but he's nothing but an arrogant, A-class Jerk!"
Tanya whistled, "that's a shame, you two would look so cute together! But I heard he doesn't date, about 15 girls already asked him and he turned them all down! That includes Felicity Paxwell!" Cassandra thought about Felicity. Felicity is a good looking person, head cheerleader, and all the rest and for him to turn her down, would seem like he's insane. "And anyway Cassy, weren't you here at lunch yesterday? The story of him and the bear was fascinating! It was so sweet how he didn't want to kill the bear." Tanya sighed, a sigh of longing.
"Wake up girl! I haven't seen you so into a guy before," Cassandra said.
"Oh, I'm not, well you know, into him like, you know THAT way, but he's interesting, that's why I like him, as a friend of course, and besides I have already got a boyfriend and I am just happy."
Tanya looked at her watch, "Oh shoot, I'm late for history. Gotta go! See you at lunch!"
Cassandra waved after her friend. Chloe soon ran towards her, "OMG! Have you heard about the-"
"Yes, yes I've heard about the new comer, but if you ask me he's really, not that impressive, come on Chloe, a stick, stuck the bear's paw, ran all the way to the ranger? That's a little farfetched if you ask me..." Chloe seemed to try to say something. "I know, you're probably going to say, he's so handsome and all that other rubbish, but yes he is extremely good looking, but he isn't all that, the way he had all of you around his finger, I'd say he's nothing but a chauvinistic, arrogant, ego-maniac jerk!"
"Now that's a bit harsh don't you think, Miss Simmons?"

Eric Sinclair had been asking about, the girl all day long and was amused when he heard what she had to say about him. This game was going to be fun.
All of Cassandra's muscles locked together, she froze and didn't dare turn around to face him. Eric saw this and smirked. He looked at the girl next to her.
"Well.. I.. I h-have.. to go. Um, later Cass." Chloe stammered. His grin got wider.
The bell rang. The student's scattered, leaving him and the girl alone in the hallway. Without looking at the person behind her, she said, "I have to go now,"
She meant to make a quick escape, but his hand lashed out and turned her to face him. Cassandra backed up against the lockers and didn't look up at him.
"Wait. I don't think we have officially met. My name is Eric Sinclair, some people call me Sinclair, but I don't really mind." Eric said
He put his left arm above her head and leaned closer to her. He whispered, " I've know a lot about you Cassandra Simmons and I'm impressed, you are the first girl to not fall for my charm. But I am wondering how long you will be able to keep this, up. After all no woman can keep their distance from me,"
Cassandra could feel his breath on her hair, and still she did not look up. But when he said that last sentence, anger boiled up inside of her and her head instinctively snapped up, "Now look here Mr. Sinclair, I have no intention of falling for you....."
Her words turned to mush as she stared into those hazel eyes. 'Look away, Cassandra, he's dangerous i can sense it' her inner self said. But she couldn't look away.
Eric leaned even closer, "Now why do you hate me so much?" he never broke eye contact with her, or else the spell would be broken.
"Hate? Oh no, no, I could never hate you..." Cassandra said. Her mind was screaming at her to push him away, but her body went numb and she wasn't listening to it. She was only listening to the sound of Eric's voice, it was like music, something so entrancing....
" But I was sure you hated me, don't you think I'm a..... class-A jerk?" he smirked, women were so easy.
"No, no, never...." came the reply,
"Good. Will you be my wife?"
"Yes, yes, yes, me, be your wife…" Cassandra gushed.
Eric leaned closer, for a kiss. Just then Cassandra snapped out of concentration and realized what was happening. Just as his lips touched hers, she put her hands on his chest and pushed him away. She was angry, how dare he use her, like that. She was not going to be one of those girls who fell in love instantly. She balled her fists and gave him the hardest punch she could. Eric’s head snapped back. Just in time to miss her blow.
"A bit violent aren’t we?" he said
She jabbed a finger at him, "You! Tell me what the hell just happened!" Her brain was to numb to register what had happened.
"As I recalled I just proposed to you, and you said yes."
Cassandra thought back. He was telling the truth. Her hand flew to her mouth. Her eyes narrowed, "You sir, are insane!"
This time it was Eric’s turn to be angry, "Not going back on our word now are we? Besides it’s too late now. You already said yes. And you can’t go back on your word, not, now, not ever, it isn’t customary."
"You’re joking aren’t you? I can’t get married, I’m too young and I haven’t even started dating you."
Eric grinned, "Would you like to date me, to take me out for a test drive? But whether you like me or not it’s too late. "
Why was he being so serious? He can’t possibly mean what he’s saying.
"What the hell are you going on about?"
"You’ll see, soon enough." He gave her one last smile and went off to his class.
Cassandra sunk down to the floor, what was he talking about?
‘It’s too late now. You can’t go back on your word, not now, not ever, it isn’t customary…..’
